Hi guys,

after speaking to several fans, some friends some otherwise, it came to my attention that out of the ones I spoke to, the sixfields attendees seem to be linked to Coventry City only by choice or being brought up to support Coventry. What I mean by this is that most sixfields attendees are not from/do not live in Coventry. I wanted to know if this was the general consensus or just coincidence from the ones I spoke to?

This is not a poll to seperate fans further, and if you want to ruin it by voting several times or whatever then that is up to you. I am just trying to be genuine here. This is more just to show that some people are linked to Coventry just by supporting the team (whether it be through choice or through being brought up to support them), others are linked because they are born and bred in Coventry. Hence why if you are only linked to Coventry City by supporting the team (and if you had to already travel to the ricoh), it makes more sense to attend sixfields.

I do not (and never have) lived in Coventry. I will NEVER attend Shitfields as long as I have a hole in my arse. What SISU have done is an absolute fcking disgrace. Happy to recommence my 400 mile round trip to the Ricoh as soon as we move back to our proper home.

Sadly the outsiders could potentially fuck our club up long term by attending sixfields.

They have no emotional attachment toCoventry and would probably be happy if we played outside the city permanently.

Lets not start shit slinging please, we are all cov fans after all!

I just found it interesting that people who are not linked to the city but support CCFC find it easier to attend sixfields, and wanted to see if there was a trend.

dont live in cov, its just as far to go to Northampton for me as it is Cov.

I simply will never set foot in Northampton whilst it is "the home of ccfc"

You could argue that the 'insiders' have fucked the club up over the years, given that a city of 300,000 has only ever mustered 10-15,000 worth of support for every home game.

you could also argue 15,000 seems an awful lot considering our "successes" in our lifetimes

You really do have a problem don't you? We've been through this before. THOUSANDS of fans do not come from Coventry but support the Club and have kept it going over the years while the majority of people from Coventry have totally ignored the Club. Unless there's been a chance of a Wembley visit.

Where are the 50K who went to the Charity Shield or the 250K that stood on the street the day after the Cup?

Born and grew up in Coventry, now living in South Wales. I would sooner stick pins in my eyes than attend Sixfields, and will start my 270 miles round trip when a) SISU have F**ked off. b) We are playing INSIDE Coventry boundaries. End of story.

Genuinely serious now, if you all want to start a little bitch fit fuck off elsewhere. This is supposed to be a serious poll, not another bullshit argument

And you could argue that the latest poll suggests (**not 100% accurate) that 55% of the fanbase are 'outsiders' so 'insiders' only ever mustered 4.5-6.75k worth of support every home game

I know it's not. No one is a superfan. I was replying directly to Valiant who trotted out that the club would fail only because of people who do NOT come from Coventry. That is bollocks and I am discussing it on a discussion forum. If you don't want comments that you disagree with then you better start your own private little message board.

I couldn't give a flying. This is not about who is a super fan or not. So save your comments for other threads.

What are you talking about? Just when I don't think your IQ could drop any further... It's not difficult. Valiant thinks that NO ONE from Coventry goes to Sixfields. Valiant thinks that people who aren't born in the City should not follow Coventry City. Valiant thinks that the club will fail because of fans OUTSIDE the City. Now, I'm sure you're an intelligent chap and I'm willing to bet that even you realise that is rubbish. Unless you're a xenophobe like Valiant?

I live outside Coventry but walk only a mile to the Ricoh.
Although born in Coventry I only started supporting Coventry in 1967 after I moved to Bedworth.

I only ever go to Sixfields if we are coming back to the Ricoh and the Ricoh for some reason was not ready or available that day.
We don't have to be at Sixfields so that is why I will not go.

Born in Coventry. Live in bedfordshire. Northampton is actually closer for me to attend but will not.
Will continue going to away matches purchasing tickets direct with opposing club.
Will resume home match attendance when Ccfc back in Coventry.

Im certain that if we were a division 3 club when you started watching football you wouldn't of given us a second look.

Youd probably be shouting Lambert out.

Yes i do have a problem with those going to sixfields, especially the ones that shouted that they wouldn't go but then change their minds when we start climbing the table and THEN start slagging people off who refuse to go down there.

And yes its impossible for the likes of you to know how us coventrians feel about having our club stolen from us.

Lewys' s thread,im not saying anymore.

No, we were top flight in 1972 when I first went, but I was only seven so didn't really think much of the division we were in. I've never slagged anyone off for not going. I've not called my fellow fans pathetic little names like you. But hey, this is Lewys' thread and I won't say any more.

I grew up in coventry and have lived in yorkshire since 89, I will support city till I die, I go to all northern games and some home game, but have made the decision not to ever go to sixfields, but not going to every home for years has made that choice easy for me and would not criticise those that do, even if I do disagree (their choice)

Whats the point of this poll!!!!!.......50,000+ people don't live in Manchester but still support them........does it really matter where you live and go to support a team!!!!.....Lets have some constructive threads please about how well our team are doing

I guess he is wondering how many people that live in Coventry go to Sixfields.

What's the problem with him asking.

He did it in a polite way. He noticed that the people he knew that attended didn't.

If Manchester were playing in Sheffield for no good reason your comparison would be valid.

@ Torchy....You portray yourself as a highly intelligent person. I have a above average IQ after having a MENSA test. I've never professed to be "Highly intelligent".....One thing I have found though, is "The highly intelligent" usually have no "Power of conviction" no "Moralistic values", and tend never to have "Anything worthwhile to say, and are highly sarcastic in response to other posters".....Remind you of anyone Torchy?

How is it a "serious" poll? It's based of some "research" by you to start a discussion that Sixfields fans don't live in Coventry. Even if we accept the research as valid (highly doubtful) it means nothing as a large element of fans at the Ricoh are not from Coventry either.

I would have thought a Mensa qualified poster may have worked out how to use quotation marks by now.
