people keep saying this.. Yet acl .. Dont do anything about what he says.. They dont do him for slander.. And they dont take up the radio station or the telegraphs offer to tell their side, or appear on the radio station along with mr fisher

though mr fisher is happy to come on the radio every other week , and "apparntley" tell lies about acl according to some people... A logical man would surely sumise its acl who maybe have something to hide here

in fact the only party here that has legal issuing s against them .. Is acl, and its sisu issuing those proceedings!!!

Except that isn't true is it.

SISU have applied to take proceedings against the council for providing a loan to the stadium using public funding.

I gather that Northampton council are providing funding for the work to be done to Sixfields - no doubt SISU's lawyers are drawing up the papers to initiate action against them at this moment!

"Whether you are 7, 17 or 70 not having a club would be more upsetting than having a ground share.

We do not have a club. Northampton is now a two club town. Coventry is the only large city in the UK without a football team but has a 32000 seater football stadium. Fecking crazy

Obvious strategy now for fisher no investment ,slow death of ccfc, blame it on the fans for not supporting them. I cant see any way out.

If Fisher wants to show himself as full of trustiness and truthified:

There was a survey polling fans about their support for the move - show the results.

There's an apparent letter from ACL saying there will be no more discussions - show the letter (they were quick to post the letter from whichever chairman backed their stance against ACL).

You seriously backing fisher up after that?? Some fans we have - bloody hell

hahaha WHAT part of that is backing up fisher.. im simply stating the facts.. because it seems some people are so blinded by the hatred for fisher.. that they think ACL smell of roses here.. despite the fact ACL dont do anything about these 'supposed' lies he keeps telling.. and they wont come onto radio and answer questions..

they dont smell of roses, their behaviour sticks of SH+T!!! they are AS MUCH if not MORE to blame for this joke of a situation..

let me make this clear, for all that seem to have trouble seeing the situation for what it is... .. i despise SISU for what they have done in the past.. and i dislike Fisher for the way he has gone about this.. I wont be following the club to northampton, and that is to the detriment of me & my family...

but be clear, this IS down to ACL .. they are almost more to blame. THAT IS ALL

And others are so taken in by Fisher and his bullshit that they believe that degrees of blame have to be equal.

Well, ACL have been very quiet as he keeps telling the same "lie". I'd like ACL to come out and tell us it is a lie. They seem reluctant to do that.

Can't ACL do this bloke for slander, he is telling out and out lies.

so what the club ( fisher ) are saying is true then , you agree..

i think you are right.. but like it or not, SISU are coventry city football club...

What they are saying probably is true yes. That is what I was saying.

And I back the Council to the hilt on it. As I've said before, this issue transcends football. They have a responsibility to protect the Ricoh Arena as a community asset.

Where's the academy going Tim? Why can't you move the contracts back into Ltd and negotiate at the Ricoh Tim?

He says that breaking the suicide pact with Northampton would be expensive. It's expensive to pay a bond with the League, it's expensive to put on free transport to Northampton every week, it's expensive to build a football stadium and buy the land, it's costly to limit your crowds to 7,000 versus 32,500 and it's expensive hiring an administrator to hand you back an empty company.

The bit that got me was the last little sentence dropped in right at the end..never before mentioned..

'With an option for two further years'

5 years to build a stadium then!!

It's too late for that. Something has to be done now.

None of this namby pamby crap from ACL and Lucas, they need to do something about it because now it is up to THEM. Fisher made it perfectly plain this morning that it's done and dusted as far as he is concerned so the ball is squarely in the CCC/ACL court.

Maybe they are saving it for the court hearing ?

It is just bollocks. The construction cost of St Helen's box like 18k stadium was £25 million, this is generally accepted to be cheap. However they sold their existing stadium land for residential development and had available derelict (inexpensive) land on which to build the new one, anchored by a supermarket.

A new stadium for Coventry, I think a figure of £50+ million would not be unrealistic.

Liquidate Ltd and negotiate with Holdings. Put forward an offer of miniscule rent and access to revenues and if Timmy still rejects it what else could reasonably be done? Bear in mind the academy is now officially homeless too.

So what does that say?
You could argue that SISU is continuing to put their money where their mouth is, the only problem people have is working out what their end game is. It's widely assumed that SISU want to sell because of the losses so far, and that's clearly the way that many people would act in SISU's place - after all, why keep throwing good money after bad?
BUT - that's clearly not the way that SISU are thinking, their actions tell you that. To me it looks like they see an end game of having a reasonably successful team in its own stadium as having a potential price tag that will be worth selling, and protecting their investors' investments. They realise that it is a longer term operation and that's why they are funding whatever they think it might take, and having to live with a load of shite from the fans - after all, a successful team will start pulling in the fans again. Even if the die-hards keep their pledges never to support them again there will be others to take their places. (Forget the £70M debt - as has been said on here before that's only a figure to fend off any hostile takeover bids, it's not real money).

Have you got 30 seconds to spare? If so give your head a good shake. See if you can wake your brain cells up ;)

When the build of the Ricoh went tits up interest rates were much higher than now. 70m of the build came from Tescos. More came along with naming rights from Ricoh. Compass paid towards it with catering rights. Might have been a bit more as well. This left a shortfall still.

Higgs put 6m in. There was still a shortfall. A loan was also taken out. Think this was 14m.....could be wrong but think this is right. Repayments for the loan were 1.2m per year. Rent set at 1.2m. It was left as it was when rent was being paid. SISU then stop paying rent. But at this time interest rates had fallen significantly as we all know. ACL managed to get the repayments reduced to 400k. Were SISU happy with this? Were they b:censored:s. They wanted Higgs to walk away with nothing and take over the small loan on the stadium. Yet some blame ACL, which is Higgs and the council that saved us from being without a ground.

Maybe ACL were to blame for not remortgaging earlier so the rent could be reduced at an earlier time, but to hold them to blame anywhere near as much as SISU shows a massive bias to SISU or an inability to understand what has been going on.

And yet for all of this cost, we have a top class facility there and ready to use. If we have the cash to kill a football club for 5 years we have the cash to acquire a considerable interest in the ground that's already there. Why didn't we go down that option rather than trying to bust ACL out?

The debt of the group in the 2011 accounts lay at around £35m. It is safe to say that the figure will be much larger now and will be enormous once the ground is built.

I agree. Use the money we are going to give NTFC to ACL. The problem is ACL won't negotiate with SISU. The phrase Mutton used was "hell will freeze over before we talk to SISU". Then you get fans writing to ACL telling them not to sell. Then you get fans on here saying they hope ACL take them to the cleaners, etc.

If the City Council and ACL had truly wanted to support the Club, it would have taken up the offer made by SISU to pay off its debt and extend the lease. Instead it used £14 million of public money to stop the deal happening.

As far as Fisher is concerned there is nothing left to say. It is now up to Lucas and ACL. Whether you or I agree with that is irrelevant, only they can stop our Club from going to Northampton.

That's fine, but given there is a very real possibility of them playing with increasingly dwindling playing budgets over the course of the next five years, the club's ability to put a successful team on the park is going to be adversely affected.

It's a bloody big gamble to take when a 130 year old football club's existence is on the line.

I for one am very uncomfortable with that gamble.

We can piss about with percentages all day. I've always laid some of the blame with ACL along with SISU and Richardson and I have been shouted down for it. Being accused of being a SISU lover, etc etc over it.

It's gone passed that point now. All that matters is that Fisher/ACL swallow what little pride either have left and do a deal for the good of the City and the fans. Nothing else matters. Least of all your fucking percentages.

90% Sisu 10% other parties

That is probably because SISU immediately went into a boycott rather than negotiation-it's not the best way to get people on side is it? So Ltd has no players-Holdings does. Terminate the lease with Ltd and give Holdings an offer they can't refuse; oh wait, they did that in January but planning for a new ground was allegedly already under way by then. SISU only want ACL's destruction.

It is possible for people to put pressure on ACL/CCC while at the same time maintaining that they are less responsible for this mess than our illustrious owners.

This pisses me off, it doesn't transcend football because it's a damn football stadium, without the club there it becomes a nonentity. The fact you side with the council through all this speakss volumes.
