Match Thread Coventry City vs Newcastle United [PL] (H) - CBS Arena - Mon 12 October (8pm KO) (5 Viewers)

From the BBC article:

Coventry City chief business officer, Nicola Ibbetson, told BBC CWR that 10% of the overall shirt sales will go to charity, with match-worn shirts from Monday's game against Newcastle United set to be auctioned off later this month.

I read that as yes
No we're not

@skybluelee is correct....

It's a special edition homeshirt tonight., but sponsors logo's are all in pink

Not sure it is

Absolutely certain it is. There isn’t a club in the land that announces their attendance based on actual numbers in the ground.

Every single club announces the number of tickets sold.

Know we won with it last game but don't think the 5 atb is the best move tonight

Not sure, special badges on a normal kit is how it came across to me?

Newcastle fan in peace here. Jut seen that there's a low attendance expected tonight. Is there a particular reason for that, like a protest or anything?

The prices are very expensive but there is only about 500 tickets left so not really that low

Marrilion by any chance?or part of a shoala Ameobi appreciation society?
Too dear I think will Mike be coming in his helicopter tonight, strangely it's nothing to do with the football, more about economics it does sound a lot like you lot ten years back from our point of view?

I dont know much about this newcastle team, but interesting stat that they are bottom of the expected points table.

What is their playing style?

They are 20th in the possession won in the final third table, so not sure they press high. They also don't put many crosses in.

I think they'll play a counter attacking from deep, they've got a good few pacey players who can carry the ball.

Theyve also really struggled against leeds and hull , both teams play wing backs

Be suprised if we dont see wingbacks tonight

Lost the spine of their side that was mostly very successful for them, a season in transition and I think they would snap your hand off for a Europa League or Conference League spot come the end of the season

Nico Gonzalez from Man City was a shrewd bit of business, a shame he is back fit for tonight I really like him

Just read online that it was the clubs intention to wear it, asked but was told no, the PL limits you to three outfield strips a season so they have had to rejig the home one

I dunno why we didn't just make it the third kit, put it on sale normally and x amount of any profits go to the breast cancer charity like they did with Kick it Out for the 2 Tone kit - it is actually so much nicer than the third kit of a similar colour we actually released

It will be a tough game. On their day they look really good, fluent and attacking. Just been inconsistent, Wissa for instance looks great one game and AWOL the next. Expect them to constantly come at us down the left flank.id love to see Onyeka and Yirenkyi to give us legs.

The only remaining tickets are not only expensive but actually probably the least desirable. Right at the top of a lot of steep steps , which will bother older guys with bladders that need emptying more often or younger guys who want to get to the bar and back easily at half time. The atmosphere up there isn’t the same as the South stand either.
Anyone with mobility issues isn’t going to fancy the climb unless they have to.

Interesting I did wonder if Tchaouna and Yerinkyi down that side to nullify them could be worth it

I’d personally do that and drop Grimes but can’t see that happening! at least we don’t face Bruno and Tonali. Thomas and Pinnock would keep Woltermader quiet but got to be mindful of Wissa running in behind. I follow the Magpies and I’d happily take a point now, hopefully Murphy doesn’t come back to haunt us!

They haven't been able to spend as much as they would like but it's still a strong team that would be hoping to finish on euro places.

A draw would be a good result as our hard fixtures continue

These is our easiest run of fixtures of the season?
