My daughter applied for a role working in the shop about two months ago.

As a first job after A Levels whilst she decides what to do, I thought it would be great experience for her. Handling payments, customer service, stock management and replenishment etc etc. A decent grounding for other roles. She'd be excited to be there as the club is pretty much her obsession. In return they get someone young, energetic, motivated, enthusiastic and cheap.

The advert remains open and they didn’t even have the courtesy to respond to her application!

Rob! Get her to apply again! They use an agency to filter out applicants before interview stage and its a very cursory glance process. The first few lines need to hit them in the face to get through this process. Bless her I wish her all the luck

Thanks mate, appreciated. Really feel for her and her generation tbh, glad I'm getting towards getting out the other end.

We've got irons in a few other fires for her too now and she's started learning to drive which will help. Had her first interview the other day and did ok without getting the job, but at least her CV is getting hits.

Your daughter should go up there and have a chat with the manager and hand in hard copy of her CV/application. My kids same age. Its so tough for kids as it is without agencies/organisations/ managers treat them with little respect! Good luck to her.

Met him one time randomly and the person i was with told him im a cov fan, and he came up to me asking if i heard about him. All i said was no, and he started getting his back up saying every cov fan knows him!!! He certainly has a few underlined issues which i do feel at times people take advantage off but they add fuel to the fire!

Got a couple of mates with kids of a similar age struggling to get part time positions while they study and theyve also had a lack of responses to applications.

Fucks me off, people come out with this 'kids today dont want to work'bollocks but dont give them the courtesy of a bit of feedback when they're trying.

My lad had a simular problem got one in the end, he had to put loads out there though.
