We're a laughing stock

Southampton only just beat it previously. Based on the 5 games our defence looks like conceding for every attack and we create only one good chance each game. Of course all this can change, but I’m just saying as bets go I would be tempted for the returns.

With Russell Martin as manager for half the season to be fair. And by the time he was sacked the damage was done.

It's just betting companies doing what betting companies do. It's free money for them, they're not daft, they wouldn't offer those odds if they thought they would have to pay out on it as it wouldn't make any business sense.
It's actually a compliment, they are actually saying we have very little chance of beating the record. Same as them always having Birmingham as one of the championship promotion favorites, they're just playing into the hype of the moment to part people from their money.

The fact they’ve even thought to offer it after ONLY 4 games should be alarm bells.

That’s how bad we’ve been.

Not really, the odds betting companies offer do not necessarily directly reflect what is happening, just how they believe they can best monetise the situation. Not saying there aren't areas for concern, just saying betting odds aren't necessarily a good indication of anything. We were not favourites to win the league 4 games in to last season, but we did win it. Birmingham were 3rd favourites to win the league (because of their hype machine), they finished 10th.

You’re missing the point.

They’re not offering it for Spurs, or Villa (with good reason)

They’re offering it for us because there are legitimate comparisons to us right now and Derby of 07/08. That’s embarrassing.

The longer this goes on, the more frequent and accurate those comparisons will be.

Perhaps because Spurs are an established premier league team and Villa are in the champion's league?
Is a comparison to a team form nearly 20 years ago after 4 games a statistically significant comparison?
Who did Derby play in their first 4 games that season? What was their squad like? How had they been promoted?
Too many variables to claim a legitimate comparison in my opinion but if you fancy the odds then go for it, make yourself a few quid!

If I could pay £50 now and guarantee we’ll get more than 11 points I’d take that in a heart beat.

But nothing I’ve seen of us so far, compared with the level of quality I’ve seen from every other team gives me much faith in us consistently picking up points.

What other team, if we were playing them at home this weekend, would you back us to beat?

What odds are they offering on Hull and Ipswich?

I'm not entirely contradicting you, my point was that betting odds aren't a good indicator of everything, if that were true, we could just bet on the favourites every week and all sit back and retire.
This weekend to be honest I would not expect us to beat any other teams based on our performances so far as we seem off the pace. I would back us to improve and grow into the season though, I think we have enough creativity and talent to be an attacking threat, my main concern would be defending where there are too many errors. So where I'm coming from is - yes at the moment we are not great but I am backing us to get better.

Yes its not the results. 4 league games isnt enough to write off a season for any side in any division.

Its the performances. We have been beyond dire and would the way we have played struggle in the championship. Defensively we are so open and look like conceding 5 or 6 every game while at the other end dont look like scoring for the most part.

I dont usually care about the Mickey Mouse Caraboa Cup but last night one massive rwd flag was apparent...the total lacknof fight innthe players and how blase they seemed about losing with the exception of Thomas Latabadieure and Torp. Bookies are rarely wrong.

Yeah, but no evidence yet to rule out this happening to us. To repeat, I’m not saying it will happen. I’m saying the returns seem good for the bet.

Some of the stuff being written about us is a joke and some of the white flag waving and towel throwing from our fans is even worse

Are you up for the fight or not?

Hopefully that's the question being asked of the players.

I’m pretty sure palace one season had zero points after 7 games - they certainly hadn’t won one

Wolves first Premier League win of the 2025/26 season came in Game 20.
Southampton’s first Premier League win of the 2024/25 season came in Game 11.
Sheffield United’s first Premier League win of the 2023/24 season came in Game 11.

Second half yesterday where the Villa fans essentially just laughed at us for 45 minutes was pretty grim

What is in common with all those 3

I will always support the players on the pitch, but objectively watching them I have seen enough football to know relegation is a certainty . Will not stop me from getting behind them every match and cheering them on.

You know it's bad when your friends and family don't even messege straight after the game anymore to take the piss.

Depends how you look at it.
A) We're only on game week 5 so could be a while yet.
B) We're not as bad as those teams were so things will change.
C) We've played Man City and Arsenal away.
d) It was Southampton & Sheff Utd first season in PL aswell.

I really dont know how you can say 2 with such certainty.

"Laughing stock" I tell you what is, playing at Northampton and Birmingham.
