I had a moment to do an excel formula and compare versus the table issued 16th July. If you exclude the bottom brackets that won’t get near, the biggest bracket increase is 1500-1599 with 35.6% versus an average of 21% in the tiers above. Looks like a number on the border of tiers have purchased points to jump up but we’re only talking a couple of hundred.

All but one tier has gained numbers suggesting selling memberships and points for home friendlies has benefited the club but just shifted everyone up.

There is an argument that the brackets should be broken by 50s with the heavy congestion at the top of the tiers.

Administratively would be more difficult and take longer to reach each bracket unless they did 50 for an hour rather than 100 drop every two hours. Be a bit annoyed though if I'm in a meeting and missed my 10am deadline.

2 hours is usually enough opportunity to get them, although I have missed before and had to go begging others for spares as I know I'd be a piece of shit on my daughter's shoe if I returned home having failed to get them!

With my 1100 points I'm unlikely to get an away ticket under business as usual, unless somewhere like Sunderland or Hull is on a Tuesday night in the depths of winter, maybe with some bad weather forecast and a few road closures. I'd really like to know how many away ballot members there are - if my chances are similarly puny through the ballot, I can stop being stupidly excited and hopeful when I get my 'ballot is open' email

I’ve more chance of convincing Dua Lipa to wee on me than getting in the away end. Got two in the City Hall hospitality. Not horrendous really when you consider what concerts and the like cost these days.

We left when saw what our fans did by charging into home family area and attacking people. Really bad that day from some Coventry City fans. Had to wait outside ground , surronded by Man City fans who were after blood.
First time since then since we played them, so do wonder whether there will be some of their fans with long memories seeking revenge.

Same here. Much easier to program the system to pick 150 winners of 2 or 300 winners of singles than it is to get it to enumerate different amounts of entries up to a total of 300

Think about it logically. If the club want to maximise income they will want people to renew next season. To do that they will need all current members to win at least one ballot.

Obviously that is subject to the numbers working.

Be interested to know how it's done. As in my head, if the "tickets" to the ballot are drawn sequentially, how do you account for the situation where there are say 3 tickets left and someone with 4 in their party are drawn out. Do they miss out becuase there isn't enought tickets to fulfil it?

Yeah would have thought so in theory? Logically it would be drawn on party size to know if it will fit.

If there's 3 left you would have thought it would be clever enough to just pick a party of 3, party of 2 and a 1 or 3 x 1s.

(I could be completely wrong but thats how I'd code it)

Yeah, I guess. But then that doesn't make it a "fair" or "random" draw and as suspected you are more likely to win the smaller your party is.

Id imagine they have to record ballot draws? FOI Requests for fairness etc. Thats why radio competition winner draws are recorded now isnt it?
