One of the absolute worst nights I've had as a Coventry City supporter was four years ago today.

I got a ticket because I'd thought that I'd enjoy the novelty of it all and was treated to the indignity of our second XI being blown away by divisional peers in another team's stadium.

Genuinely horrible evening, and if you had told me that night everything that would happen at the end of the season, let alone everything that was to come in the next few years, I would have thought you were mad.

I was there, closest I will ever be to a home game living in Tamworth - I felt less embarrassment and more anger to the stadiums former owners as I think they really let the club down that summer and I was genuinely preparing myself for yet another stint watching 'Home' games in other locations

In hindsight, wish we had just switched it to Ashton Gate or let Bristol City have a walkover

Don't know if anyone noticed, but PNE v Huddersfield was played at Goodison Park at the weekend as their pitch was also not ready and Rugby League was taking place at Hudds  So at least we aren't the only ones

Like you I went to this one because I thought it'd be a cool novelty, but it turned out pretty grim. Jamie Allen scored a nice goal at least

Try 2018

Chance of playoffs slipping away, but we had Yeovil at home to try and get into the chase. We lost 2-6. That one hurt. L1 seemed miles away 😆
What a goal by Max though. Will always remember a great strike, long after the result.

That was some hit but yeah a terrible result and amazing how far we’ve come since.

Met Max a couple of years ago and told him it was my favourite goal of his.

Don't think the play offs were slipping, if i recall, we were on a bit of a hot streak, making this result even more bizarre

You could well be right about our run. I just remembered is needing to win games after the Yeovil game to get into the playoffs and we had a good run after it.

Made worse by my decision to pay on the gate because I wanted to stand so I didn’t even get any points!
