Higher than that. We'll stick relegation clauses in because Doug isn't a complete moron, unlike the Leicester owner, but in the Prem it will be more the £50k easily.

Seeing the impact of xhaka at Sunderland, I think one or two old heads surrounded by young talent is a good options. Robertson fits the bill perfectly, but will have other offers I’d imagine. Stones definitely out of reach. What about Milner? Too old?

We could easily in theory afford do pay someone like Andy Robertson £80 grand a week as there’s no transfer fee. I don’t think we will but it’s a statement transfer if we did.

Slot has already said that they'll need to sell in the summer to bring in more players. (although I doubt he'll be in charge to preside over that).

Given the PSR benefits they'd yield from his sale I would imagine Jones is probably one of the player's they'd quite happily receive offers for to be honest.

Year 1 - stay in the league - keep the nucleus of the squad, add a few quality loans (Elliott and Jones) and one or two statement signing, (The tank may be one of them and Rushworth)
Year 2 - consolidation - see who has performed and give them stronger contracts, sell a few and release a few, bring in more accomplished premier players.
following years - develop our own local talent, scout worldwide for players we know we can develop and sell at a profit and hopefully move up the league.

Risk assessment - manager may leave, owner may sell, relegated. In business it is what you sow now that counts not three years down the line. The football world, not only the premier is completely dictated my changing methods, changing economies, a changing world. My advice is, enjoy the now, have a plan B and C, don't put all your eggs in one basket, keep it simple and don't live above your means.

We can't not sign 6 or 7 starters for next season. That's what Luton did and look where they are now. We will need that many just to replace what's leaving.

to me the task is that big - there isn't one player in the current squad that is indispensible, i include Grimes, Onyeka, Wright and MVE in that. All of them whilst great for us in the championship, shown why they were in that league. There isn't a world where wright could go missing for 3/4 games in the premier league, likewise with MVE - Brilliant getting up and down the pitch, but if he's in no mans land when Bobby Thomas has a wayward pass picked out by Cherki we'll be conceding goals by the bucket load.

What’s the crack about loans from other Premier clubs ?? Isn’t it only 3 allowed or am I confusing that with something else ?
