Ipswich will beat Portsmouth tonight easy.We will regret that awful performance Saturday as if we don't pick up performances I can see them beating us to the title, that would be fucking terrible considering how long we have been top for.

Heli needs to set em up differently,to get a result, something that they can believe in, I'd be seeking Aidys advice a bit more for this one!
Fair play to Portsmouth fans who at the start of the game make this jolly little tune sound like a rampaging war cry.
Is that an example of Union Street or am I confusing town's, only ever Heard of it, straight up!🤔
Great tune also!

Be nice to get a win Friday so its a case of when we are champions rather than if.
I want us to win on Friday but if we do, I don't want Boro to win on Sunday.

I would obviously take it because I want us to be promoted above anything else but if I have a preference, it would be for us to secure the title on the pitch, at home.

Them drawing would be perfect and would leave us only needing 1 more point. Either way a win on Friday and this time next week we could be league champions.

Obviously, if we lose or draw at Blackburn, I want Boro to beat the absolute fuck out of them.

My social calendar for the next 2/3 weeks looks like this

17/04 - Blackburn - Promotion party
21/04 - Portsmouth - Title party
26/04 - Wrexham - Trophy lift party
02/05 - Watford - Combined Ipswich miss out on auto's party and wave Leicester off on their trip down the pyramid party

Really not sure why everyone obsesses over winning it at home. If we become champions on sunday we still lift the title in front of the home fans

We need an iconic moment at the CBS.
Most of our big days have been elsewhere in recent years ... Wembley, Wolves, Notts County, Boro ...
We missed out in 2020.
The home fans deserve to experience the euphoria.

Tbh i've heard it from not here, there is also one paranoid Boro fan who thinks it's a cover to keep him from being injured because they've already agreed a £20m deal for him.
Jeopardise a potential £150m+ cash injection to try and ensure a £20m injection? When he could still potentially get injured at home eating pasta or getting the remote control.

Not having it.

A draw at Blackburn wouldn't be the worst result so I'm glad we can now afford it

That said I don't want the home pressure of needing to beat Wrexham to win title either
I just can't see the title race going as far as the Wrexham game. Ipswich are not as good as many seem to think. They're the best at diving and cheating but that's as far as it goes. They have some good players but also a few weak links.

I noticed Furlong didn't have a good game last night, Ipswich were bright enough at the start but don't know what happened later?

Ipswich started the season badly, 13 points I think from the first ten. It’s very difficult to recover from that

I still think Middlesbrough go up.

They're dominating every game - 70-80% possession. 25+ shots per game.
Have key players returning soon (e.g. Hackney)

Feel like their current dropoff is equivalent to Sunderland's last year - who eventually pulled through.

I do think they'll get back on track at some point (hopefully against Ipswich)
It's football so anything can happen. But their confidence is shot to pieces. They don't have a goalscorer in their side. They're averaging nearly 50 shots per goal recently. Yes they have a lot of possession but do nothing with it.

They have to beat Ipswich away to have a chance of coming 2nd. Ipswich are 3 points ahead with a game in hand plus a GK of 9 in their favour.

The best chance for Middlesbrough in the playoffs would be Southampton coming 2nd. Can't see anyone beating Southampton in the playoffs.

There's a bit of a difference getting given the trophy at home and winning at home to clinch the title in front of a full house and then receiving the trophy. It would be amazing if it could happen.
