I’ve always been sympathetic to Israel with the bombardment they’ve received over the years, especially from Hezbollah, but this seems more about Netanyahu keeping a conflict going that other sides appear to want to try to end (probably as he’s got at least one eye on elections later in the year).

Assuming there is no meddling in the midterms the Democrats will take control of either one or both parts of the Congress which effectively will neutralise whoever is president.
