The best we can hope for is Millwall to lose or draw on Friday meaning if we win they can't mathematically catch up

By 5pm - if Middlesbrough fail to win we will we will be promoted (if Millwall fail as well) - if they also win it goes to the Blackburn game (1 pt needed)

The Ipswich game doesn't matter on Saturday because if they lose they can still get to 90 points
Yep both milwall and boro fail to win and we win we’re up !!!

If you’re not going to Blackburn, have been on the beers and think a win seals it in all but name I can see why.

Really? Maybe an awful lot of beers. Might as well have run on after Preston at home.

Don’t we have to win Saturday and still have to get at least a point at blackburn for it to be official, milwall and Mboro can’t get to 88

Boro and Millwall can only get 87 that's why we need 88 points,if Ipswich lose two more games 88 points also wins the league.

We'll be outsung all game is the confident claim from 'The Ghost of 91' on the Sheff Weds forum.

He might be in for a bit of a shock (unless we go a goal down lol), it'll be a 90 minute party with promotion all but guaranteed.

This will be a tougher game than most are expecting I think, as has been said they will be playing for contracts elsewhere, they also will want to beat top of the league especially away from home. We’ll probably win 2-0 but not without fightback or a cruised result

I think most think it could be a hard slog, to be honest

Seems they really go in for the low block big style.

They will try and frustrate us at every turn. We just need to remain calm and stay focused.

2-0 would be just fine.

Not expecting a goal fest here, but if we did somehow go a goal up early, I do think we would then win very easily. The longer it goes on, the more frustrating it will be, but as long as we keep our heads and stick to the plan, we will be fine

Yeah, but that just elongates the wait

We want it to be official. We all know we are up, but it would be so nice to get it all rubber stamped and done.

It needs to be a win as far as I am concerned.

God yes. No drama, over as quickly as possible. No talk of wobbles , 2nd Rate Podcast laughing at us etc
Do what champions do and get it finished . Going to Blackburn needing points? No thanks.

I know you don't understand betting on big odds but thanks for your input.

Their odds have dropped like a stone since you informed me how stupid it was to bet just 2 quid on a 100/1 shot. They're now down to 18/1 with the site I use. This means I could take a profit already if I wanted. This type of bet comes down to how long you hold your nerve before cashing out. Ipswich still have to go to Southampton. They have to go to Norwich this weekend. Ipswich have only won 2 in their last 5 games.
Simply you don't cash out. You place the bet initially because you think that it's value. Cashing out always favours the bookmaker . What you do instead is Dutch the alternative options if you don't want to see the bet through to the end. You make more profit this way.

I'm not planning to, but let's see how the results go. If it looks like coming in because Southampton keep winning I will leave it. But if I get something tempting for my £2 bet I might take it. Something like £50 for a £2 would be tempting. Would have to look at remaining fixtures.

Does anyone know if Dhillons will screen the game as its a non 3pm/blackout fixture?

I know the Anecdote shuts during the game but I'd imagine there'll be a few ticketless punters knocking about wanting to soak up the atmosphere

The Norwich v Ipswich game is more important for us. Let's face it, if we win on Saturday, only Ipswich have any chance of catching us. Millwall and Middlesbrough will have disappeared in the rear view mirror 🪞 mere dots.
On that basis we will know at 2.30 on Saturday the result of Norwich v Ipswich and will be able to predict with confidence promotion and, possibly, the title.

We can confirm promotion on Saturday, without Ipswich even being in the picture , so I don't think that is that important , though it would be really nice

If both Millwall and Boro fail to win and we beat Sheff Weds, we are promoted and that's official.

The Ipswich game would only help in terms of the probability of us becoming champions

There’s no way we don’t pick up 4 points in 5 games and Boro and Millwall win all their games so I think Oakey is right Ipswich is all that matters now.

I get that angle. Bottom line is, if we win and Millwall and Boro don't, we are promoted on Saturday. So to me, that is the number one priority and most important thing. Confirmed promotion.

I have dismissed Ipswich catching us anyway. They have 7 games left and 5 of those are away from home. Be a bloomin miracle if they win all those and within such a short space of time. They have two games a week hereon in.

I won't even think of or consider Ipswich until we are confirmed as promoted.

There's no way we win Saturday and don't go up
The goal difference is the 4th point we'd need to make it a formality

We’re basically up already. Even if we don’t win on Saturday.
wev‘e been top for nearly the whole season, there’s no way we’re not going up as champions, win the league against Portsmouth and give Players like Wilson and Allen a game against Wrexham
