Neither of which we have managed to defeat this season either
We knew we had enough in the bank at home against both and given we knew from those two games down there both team's had a lot of assistance from the officials, guess he must have said don't spend negative energy, might have got another KC on the case.

Southampton actually have the form to potentially sneak in the automatic promotion spots. Their GD is only 2 off Boro and 10 from Ipswich. Their run in looks good, full of teams who don’t really have much to play for. Derby and Blackburn at home should be Ws, Ipswich at home is favourable and a 6 pointer…

Since their lost in Jan, their record is 11-3-0 with 3 cup wins too. 6 points off with 5-6 games remaining and they must fancy it.

V unlikely but would be hilarious given the narrative we were bottling it...
Took 100/1 on them last week. Down to 60/1 after beating Arsenal. Now down to 18/1 after their demolition of Wrexham. The 4/1 on them getting promoted was a gift 😁
Playoffs will be a complete reset, we were the ‘form team’ last season and we lost to Sunderland who’d effectively binned off half the season.

Southampton have had a massive push to get to this point, credit to them. They actually haven’t beaten any of the teams currently in the playoffs this season, losing 4 out of 6, their last losses: Hull and Boro.

Unfortunately for Millwall, they’ve not done too well against teams towards the bottom of the table. Their form all season has been patchy all year - their longest unbeaten run is only 5 games.
Sunderland were second best against both us and Sheffield United. These things happen. Southampton were poor under Still and it took their new manager time to sort things out. They're now firing on all cylinders. They've beat 2 top 10 Prem sides including Prem favourites Arsenal. You can only beat who is in front of you. I can't see them losing until they play Manchester City. They have Ipswich at home 3 days later.

This weekend could change the table standings. Ipswich away to Norwich and Southampton at home to Derby. The 6 points lead and game in hand can soon disappear, especially as Ipswich have to go to their place. Ipswich only have 2 home games in their last 7. The 2 form teams are us and Southampton. It won't be long before they're second favourites for 2nd place.

Wrexham were top 6 until they got thrashed at home by Southampton last night. What's good about their run is it shows how good we really are. Our only defeat since we lost top spot for a single game was to Southampton and we were unlucky to lose.

Didn’t realise Ipswich had so many away games left. They will have the chance to effectively end Boro’s auto challenge at home though.

The way we played at the beginning of the season when we were scoring for fun, and then the sudden slump, which did coincide with playing Ipswich twice in the space of a few weeks, and then our sudden rise again, has shown me this league is unpredictable and thank God we are nearly out of it.
I still fancy Millwall and Boro to get the second spot because Southampton and Ipswich will have a few off games as they have throughout the season. They will get kicked off the park against the Derbys and Portsmouths and all it needs is one or two bad games and their expectant fans will be on their backs.
Southampton haven't had an 'off' game for a few months since they got rid of Still and sorted out why they were so crap.

Derby H
Blackburn H
Swansea A
Bristol City H
Ipswich H
Preston A

Ipswich only have 2 home games left. Southampton only have 2 away games left. The biggest danger I see for them is the FA cup semi final against Manchester City 3 days before the Ipswich game.

Ipswich

Norwich A
Portsmouth A
Middlesbrough H
Charlton A
WBA A
Southampton A
QPR H

Southampton 2nd? Unlikely at the moment but it can change very quickly. Middlesbrough are scoring at the rate of a single goal from every 50 shots 😆 Millwall have an easier run of games like Southampton and are on a good run. It wouldn't surprise me if 2nd place ends up between the two outsiders Millwall and Southampton.

I looked at the fixtures coming up and Leicester might well be saved by Portsmonth's form and there next 4 games ie 3 points last 6 games ,Middlesboro and us away Ipswich and the big 1 for them April 18th at home to those six fingered shits down the 69.
I'll definitely be rooting for Portsmouth that day.

Their Middlesbrough game is the start of 4 games in 9 days with then 3 away games on the bounce ending at Southampton. I know Ipswich are odds on for 2nd place, but they will deserve it if they get it.

These next few weeks are going to be brutal. As it stands now Middlesbrough will have to find their shooting boots against Ipswich to make things open at the top. I have my popcorn ready for the entertainment ahead 😄

Just a bizarre feeling to be able to watch all this with a double figure points lead at the top. As Martin Tyler once said, a moment to savour.

It’s not Portsmouth they need to be worrying about, both of them need to worry about Oxford who have some winnable games (Watford H, Wrexham H, Wednesday H)

Portsmouth v Leicester on the 18th looks like winner takes all. Both have difficult games otherwise.

Im that awful predicament of spending days between the games looking at every possible outcome and being desperate for the next game whilst also full of dread.

Trying my best to not focus on the others until we show an up turn in form. We have three home games left - Portsmouth, Sheff Wed and Watford. It has to be 9 points.

We have Ipswich and Wrexham away. Ipswich is a must not lose game, its probably going to be must win. A draw and we will still be relying on them dropping points.

Norwich and Southampton will be two tough away games for Ipswich and im hoping a midweek game at Fratton Park proves troublesome for them.

Southampton based on last night could win every gam remaining but the FA Cup may just burst that bubble and surely this run ends?

Honest feeling is we wont do it, too many games have passed us by without winning and that will cost us come the end of the season.

The waiting is always the worst part to be honest. But a side that keeps making lots of chances will eventually see results reflect that, if you weren't even doing that I'd be more concerned.

I have a funny feeling about Ipswich. I keep thinking about this Pompey away game that has been moved twice now, had that of been played already I am sure Ipswich win comfortably. However now I am not so sure, Portsmouth will be scrapping for every point. Norwich away is arguably the worst fixture at the moment unless you're playing us or Southampton. Boro are absolutely capable of winning away there as well. Then you look at the away form and congestion of all these games.

It is going to be a real tough few weeks for them, even with their ridiculously strong squad.

My prediction going into the weekend for what it's worth...

West Brom 1-1 Millwall
Norwich 3 -1 Ipswich
Cov 2 - 1 Sheff Wed
Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Portsmouth

An interesting quirk of the fixtures is that we now play 4 of the same opponents in the last 5 games, having recently both played Swansea and Bristol City with Blackburn also featuring. It's giving a direct and interesting comparison of the form of both teams and a reason I don't see that gap closing before the end of the season.

We're on the same page with Southampton. 4 home games out of their 6 remaining games. Ipswich 2 home games from 7.

It isn't just last night but the last few months. Next 4 games very winnable before Manchester City. When Ipswich go to Southampton both sides will be running low on energy. But it's advantage Southampton here as they have 4 home games and only travelling to Swansea in the league and a trip to Wembley in this time. Ipswich have to travel to Norwich, Portsmouth, Charlton, WBA and Southampton with their only home game this month against your side Middlesbrough.

The odds are very different for the 4 clubs involved in the race for 2nd, but you can see how it could go wrong for all 4 sides.

I wouldn't mind Wrexham joining us, would take the spot light away from us and Lampard.

Southampton and Ipswich have way more players you'd be happy to fill a Prem squad out with than Millwall and Boro. Less surgery required and given both spent over £100 million last time they went up (albeit to still be absolute piss water) you'd suggest they'd do something similar again. That said there's nothing we can do about it is there. We'll win the title ahead of both so we just get to watch it all unfold. If even one of them misses out i'll be delighted. Both clubs are a shower of cunts too.

why the fuck would we want that

Already said many times want Millwall and Middlesbrough up with us, but if either drop out I prefer it to be Wrexham, the media circus is unbearable as it is in the prem, be even worse if we get off to a slow start. Sky can dribble over Ryan Reynolds for the next 12 months if it helps keep us up.

Sky are already Spunking over them as it is, that would take it to a new level. 😡

It's starting to look like Wrexham will fail to make the playoffs. That'll do nicely.

Does that mean they will get an additional points deduction?

You would have thought they would have made that as a condition as long as they don't appeal. 🤔
