Much as it makes me feel a bit dirty sticking up for them, but they're playing the form team in the division (who have just beaten Arsenal) and haven't lost many this season. The table doesn't lie, they're as good as their position.
That's great but they still don't look very good

Southampton are definitely on a roll, although they play Ipswich at home 3 days after the FA Cup semi final and we all know what happened to our form after Wembley.

That'll be a tough one but I also think they'll slip up against someone you wouldn't expect as that is what football is like.

Assume they beat Ipswich in that fixture:

IPSWICH 72 with game in hand
BORO 72
MILWALL 72
SOUTHAMPTON 69
HULL 68

So 1 game in 5 to catch up with Boro/Milwall and pull ahead on GD - seems likely re Boro now - but would still potentially be a game behind Ipswich and behind them on GD. They'd need Boro to beat Ipswich, but lose to Wrexham; while Ipswich drop points somewhere else as well... Milwall would also have to lose a game somewhere, they have an easyish run in now? I still think Milwall, Southhampton to win playoffs.

Best hope is for Ipswich to end up in playoffs with Southampton so at least one of them can’t go up. Having both would be a real shame
We've taken 34 points out of 36 off Millwall and Boro in last 3 seasons, along with them not having a headstart on us in terms of finance and squad next season from being parachute/Hollywood wankers.

Southampton and Ipswich going up would be very annoying.

Can see it happening, to be honest.

I'm finding it hard to root for Millwall, though, just because they're popular with Millwall supporters.

Matty James looked like he has put on a bit too much timber.

Moore is a threat up front, but I can't see Wrexham have that good a squad overall.

Sorry but my eyesight has gone. It's all over bar the cheering. We have easier games and our opponent don't. . I'm happy to be called Jessica if we don't go up as champions.

Southampton actually have the form to potentially sneak in the automatic promotion spots. Their GD is only 2 off Boro and 10 from Ipswich. Their run in looks good, full of teams who don’t really have much to play for. Derby and Blackburn at home should be Ws, Ipswich at home is favourable and a 6 pointer…

Since their lost in Jan, their record is 11-3-0 with 3 cup wins too. 6 points off with 5-6 games remaining and they must fancy it.

V unlikely but would be hilarious given the narrative we were bottling it...

My own synopsis is that Ipswich v Boro will be the decider for 2nd place, it turns out it could be Southampton v Ipswich! If Southampton can whittle the gap points going into their tie, its game on.

Norwich v Ipswich this weekend has just got a lot more interesting.

They’ve left themselves too much to do imo. Boro have lost their composure and Millwall just aren’t good enough atm. Southampton, unlike the rest of the runners and riders, actually have the form to hit close to their max of 84 - that’d have to be a 10 game win streak.

Cant see past Ipswich and Southampton coming up with us really. Millwall and Boro have fallen off as non parachute clubs tend to when fatigue hits. And just don’t seem to have the bottle. And clubs that miss out on autos after a season of being up there often lose out to resurgent teams in the POs.

Not sure Millwall have "fallen off", they've just won at Boro and drew at Ipswich. Their home form isn't great though admittedly but they have got more away games than home games left in what looks a potentially favourable run in.

Their two previous losses are against teams around the relegation zone and they’re playing 3 teams scrapping down there.

Millwall lose a lot of games so I’m expecting that they won’t finish the job. The quality isn’t there imo.

WBA(A) 20th; QPR 12th; Stoke(A) 13th; Leicester(A) 22nd; Oxford 23rd - which games do Milwall lose from hereon in? QPR and Stoke on holiday now... They have to have the easiest run-in/

Playoffs will be a complete reset, we were the ‘form team’ last season and we lost to Sunderland who’d effectively binned off half the season.

Southampton have had a massive push to get to this point, credit to them. They actually haven’t beaten any of the teams currently in the playoffs this season, losing 4 out of 6, their last losses: Hull and Boro.

Unfortunately for Millwall, they’ve not done too well against teams towards the bottom of the table. Their form all season has been patchy all year - their longest unbeaten run is only 5 games.
