Let’s be honest, Boro could have the second comings of both Ronaldo’s playing for them next season and they would still conspire to lose both games to us. It’s what their fans want.
It's not what we want, but is overwhelming likely what we'll get regardless and we're resigned to it by now.

Unless being in a different league is a Hoodoo breaker of course, but I certainly wouldn't pin hopes on that.

You're not 100% promoted until mathematically so.

But it's my opinion that you're probably 99.5% so. Maybe they've just rounded it off to the nearest whole percentile?🤔
Nope - they had us at "99.94%" BEFORE Friday's games. That was silly, and the 100.00% is demonstrably false. The Opta figures cannot possibly mean what people like to think they do, but it doesn't stop people trundling them out 🤷‍♂️.

They’re dynamic values too and change with each and every game.

We have all but clinched promotion and it is counting down when we secure promotion rather than if.

We’re projected to hit 95-96 points so that’s why the Opta computers have us at 100% likelihood of promotion.

Surprised more boro fans aren’t questioning Helberg tbh. Should be on their way to the prem but they’ve thrown it away with only 2 wins in 9 since the wankathon after going top

He clearly is very good at implementing a tactical style, but the team are mentally weaker than under Edwards

They have zero composure in front of goal. You can blame the squad but I think it is down to the coaching staff. Look at how Lampard improved the goal-scoring of Rudoni, EMC, BTA, Eccles

They seem too emotional. We rattled them easily & you could see it was gonna go wrong yesterday when Conway was geeing up the crowd twice in the first 90 seconds because they’d won a throw in and a corner

There is a mental block there similar to what we had away from home in January. If they had the cajones they would’ve rectified it against Millwall like we did against boro. They didn’t and that is purely down to mentality

As I eluded to earlier in the thread, I think they have sold him short - Their January business consisted of Leo Castledine and Finn Munroe who spent the first half of the season playing in L1 and L2 respectively, a back up goalie in Joe Wildsmith and then Sarmiento who in my opinion massively flatters to decieve

I cannot believe Gibson of all people, an astute business and football man did not think to make more of a go of it in their Jan spending

Feel for Boro, but it's not over just yet. They can still get second.

I'm obviously not even a Boro fan but would have been furious at the shots of Hackney et al with their heads in their hands when Millwall got their second. As a fan you don't want to see that, you want to see cold determination and defiance.

Hackney has talent but does he have a decent temperament? Earlier this season should have missed 3 games for losing his head and kicking a player up in the air. In prem with VAR he is off for that every time. Other week he was mouthing off to Conway, looked to be telling him to fuck off, then as you say yday head in hands. Not really captain material imo, and yet he is their captain?! Maybe I've just seen him at his worst and Boro fans can point to lots of times he has been a decent leader but I haven't noticed it yet

You know who’d do a job for Boro next season if they don’t go up? Ellis Simms. I think he’ll end up being sold personally.
Yeah-was saying this to my son the other day. He would undoubtedly get at least 15-17 goals in a full season and that could be the difference for Boro.

It will be interesting to see what the EFL do with the Saints v Blackburn game should they hold on to this lead against Arsenal

FA Cup semis are scheduled for 25/04, a week before the last game of the season, Southampton already playing another game in hand against Ipswich inbetween and they would have to fit another one in v Blackburn somewhere

So if we hit Leicester’s 23/24 total, as well as Fulham and Bournemouth’s in 21/22, the league is worse?

Derby are likely to hit our points tally from last season and they’re in 8th. Stupid post, the Championship has just been massively competitive.

He describes himself as a chartered accountant and 'the baddest man on the planet'.

I suspect at least one of those things to be untrue.

Who the f is he
One of many idiots that have cropped up on my Twitter feed.

Every season people say ‘the gap between Prem-Championship is getting bigger’ and if parachute teams do badly, ‘the championship has been the worst it’s been for a while’.

We’re on course to over take most Championship winners in recent years on comparatively much smaller budgets. Fulham won the league on 92 points having lost 10 games, Bournemouth in 2nd got 88 points.

Last season, the top 3 were ridiculous and had the top 6 last season been tracking at the rate of this season, we wouldn’t have finished 6th.

It’s not our fault that Boro have collapsed, they ought to have been neck and neck with us. If they’d kept up people would be talking about this season being ‘all time’ in entertainment.

They'll have to bring it forward to maybe mid April midweek?

Ideally you want us and Millwall to go up then to give you close to a guaranteed 12. Under no circumstances do you want an Ipswich/Saints combination.

However for us and Millwall to do so would somehow have to involve us making an unlikely charge to 2nd with Hackney, Whittaker and Casteldine miraculously recovering too.

As there's honestly more of a chance however unlikely of us doing this AND Millwall winning the playoffs, than there is of us getting anything at those cursed Twin Towers. They may as well be Mount Doom to us.
If you think the problem is the towers I've got some good news for you...

The Championship isn't worse this year, it's just more competitive.
It isn't worse just because 1/2 team(s) are running away with it.
It's better because the parachute teams have fucked up, and we are taking advantage of that.

Makes me love the mentality of our side even more - when Derby scored the pen the players raced back to get ready with the confidence of “we’re still gonna win this”
I know all footballers do it , but Diaz sushing the family zone when he got away with a dubious pen call really pissed me off.

If Southampton hold on against Arsenal, I'm pretty sure the only slot that they can play their game against Blackburn is on the Tuesday before we play Blackburn on the Friday.

It is but I doubt they could sell tickets quick enough with only 10 days notice
