If we manage to get 6 points from the next 2 games then home win against Sheffield Wednesday clinches promotion and probably the title.

We just need to keep doing what we have been doing. Southampton game aside, we have not been losing matches and that is going to be the key, because even drawing Derby/Hull, we still go into the Sheff Wed game in ok position, we just need to keep chipping away.

I actually don't think we win at Hull, not sure why but I can see us beating Derby.

This international break was nice 10 minutes after that Swansea win but I'm over it now!

Still find it nuts that people still think we need 3 or 4 wins

If we apply 2PPG To the chasing pack, which won't happen for the fact they play each other and law of averages aswell etc, then....

Boro - 85
Ipswich - 85
Millwall - 83

2 more wins and we are up, 86. It may even be the title, but let's say 3 more wins gets the title, 89.

Weve lost 7 in 39, We aren't just suddenly going to lose 6 of the last 7.

Its happening, its a case of when not if now
Of course we shouldn't need 3 wins for promotion. But as you then said we most probably need 3 wins plus for the title 🤔

The problem with saying we just need 2 wins for promotion is 2 sides also have to drop points, so winning the next 2 games most probably won't be enough for our promotion to be mathematically confirmed. Millwall have to keep winning to stay in the race, but we need them to lose 2 games and us win 2 games. Middlesbrough need to drop 7 points to make it mathematically safe with 2 wins for us. The 3rd win for us would speed along the inevitable. Ipswich could get 1 more points than Middlesbrough but have to win an extra game.

Looking at the games coming up if we win our next 2 games we could well be going for both promotion and Champions in the same game at home to Sheffield Wednesday. If the results haven't gone our way by now we're then at home to Blackburn and it's Ipswich v Middlesbrough. 2 big chances to do it at home.

Highly unlikely we get promoted v Sheff W and almost no chance of securing the title on that day.

Ipswich will have 6 games left so we'd need to be 19 points clear of them plus either 16 points clear of Mboro (who'd have 5 left as playing at 3pm) or 13 points clear of Millwall (4 left).

We need 11 points maximum to be promoted - A lot to ask but if we win both games over Easter and beat Sheffield Wednesday we would be guaranteed promotion away at Blackburn with a win. Lose 1 of these and win 3 we would be promoted at home to Portsmouth with a win.

It could even be at home to Sheffield Wednesday if the 3 below us drop points (remember Middlesbrough are playing Millwall on Good Friday)

Yep, agreed about Blackburn. It'd be nice to secure it with our 10th win in 11 games for sure.

The games in hand are more likely than not going to thwart it happening v Sheff W IMO though.

It can be done - maybe not likely but is possible - Millwall to beat Middlesbrough and then lose to Norwich - Millwall could get a maximum of 87 points. Middlesbrough lose to Millwall and then Swansea away the most they can get would be 86 points. Two draws for Middlesbrough would be even better. A long shot I know - we can live in hope.

Win the next 4 and nothing else matters anyway

If Middlesbrough lose 2 more games the best they can do is 86 points. We would be on 86 points with 2 wins and a far superior GD. If Middlesbrough don't win any of the next 3 games we would be looking good to confirming finishing ahead of them at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

5 wins, a draw and a defeat would put Millwall's points on 85 points. 5W 2D is only 86 points. Millwall really need to win every game as we go along to keep in touch.

Next up Middlesbrough v Millwall 😂 Millwall win or draw for me. The confirmed promotion could come very quickly.

I know the scenario that would need to unfold. But those things happening as you describe is much less likely than them not happening.

I'm not sure that is true. If we take the 3 teams across their last 7 matches, 8 for Ipswich and were to say they got the same points again, then
Boro 2w, 4d, 1l = 10 points Total 81 points
Ipswich 4w, 3d, 1l = 15 points Total 84 points
Millwall 4w, 1d, 2l = 13 points Total 82 points

I know there is nothing scientific about that, but, they all have slipped up against so called lower teams lately, so who is to say it isnt going to happen again
