No idea what Lampard wants in terms of numbers & names....but I would think we would be spending "big", up to 20million , on only 2 or 3 players & that will be our lot.
We ain't buying 10 players, not a chance.

Then we stay up by the skin of our teeth.

The closest we had to another out and out DM was Jamie Allen so I’m not sure what saying no one else could do the job is saying here.

I’ve been catching up on posts over the last few days. Are you trying to get a new career in stand up? The amount of shite you’ve been coming out with is even extreme by your normal sorry standards,

Then we’ll go down with a very low points total IMO. £50m barely buys you the three first team players you definitely need let alone upgrades anywhere else or squad players.
King has come out and said we wont be doing a Sunderland, so we wont be spending £100m, we dont have that money we cant spend what we dont have?

To be fair that may be true but he also isn't going to come out and say "we're gonna spend like a drunken 60s football pools winner".

Also, a sidenote - If we "spend" 100m on transfers you don't actually spend the whole 100m in one go.

We could recoup 20 million in sales for players currently sat on our bench
Wolfy, Kitching, Torp and Simms would get you close to that.

Sunderland spent over €200m

Poorly worded on my part , I meant or indeed hope we would spend up to 20mill each on 3 new players. For a total maximum spend of 60million.
So if you are correct, with outgoing player sales, we only need add a further 40million from the prize fund.

I still cant see us spending that much though and I dont think we can expect that much to be spent
We will be spending a lot of money, but transfer fees are normally paid in instalments these days. We would have the money coming in over the next 3 years minimum to pay for it.

I don't see a problem with giving Lampard £100m to build a squad. On top of this there's any money coming in from players sold, but can't see this being very much as we will need to keep our best players.

I can see King taking a calculated risk. I can also see Lampard leaving if he isn't going to get sufficient funds to have a chance of staying up.

If be surprised if we spent that much and it would significantly increase the wage bill.

I think we'll cast our net wider than we have for a very long time to bring in 2 or 3 high quality marque signings and supplement them with players who are seen as not at their ceiling, similar to Markelo. How much we'll spend on doing it is anyone's guess.

We wouldn't generate anywhere near that for those four.

Any sales we make will be effectively cancelled out anyway with the likely promotion clauses owed on the likes of Wright, MVE, EMC and Simms etc.

Hard disagree on that. Each one would generate 5m each as a minimum. We’d definitely recoup what we paid for Woolfenden, Kitching and Simms whilst making money on Torp

No one is paying £5m for either Wolfenden or Kitching. That's frankly an absurd take.
Woolfenden is the only one we'd lose money on imo. I dont really know what Simms and Torp fetch but we sold captain sicknote for £6.5 million! I think we may see Kitching and Torp stick around. Woolf and Simms i think will go. That's just my gut feeling though, could be totally wrong.

We're going to need pritty much a new team, I can't see King doing that, so I think we'll be preparing for the 27/28 championship season with a new batch of kids, but at a higher level than we currently have.
Pretty!

We paid nearly 15 million for them....

And I'd say that's probably what we'd get back, give or take.

We wouldn't make a profit on Kitching or Wolfenden.

The market for CBs isn't particularly high and neither are really that young or good enough to play in the PL. Wolfenden has been a pretty bad buy in the grand scheme of things and not really shown anything to suggest he's more than a middle of the road Championship CB based on his performances this season. Kitching will have a higher stock, but again I struggle to see how we get back for what we paid for him, or if we manage to we certainly wouldn't be able to exceed that fee.

Simms and Torp we'd likely make a decent return on but again neither are good enough to play in the PL so there's a cap on what clubs would pay and similar to Wolfenden and Kitching they're not that young so their resale value isn't great for buying clubs.

So yeah as often is the case I doubt fees received would be as much as people think.

To a club that vastly overpaid for every player they purchased and have to in order to attract what is relatively average talent in the grand scheme of things.

If Simms has three years left he’s worth £10m easily considering his record. The fact he’s only got a year left probably reduces that a fair amount.

Same for Sakamoto and Lats who only have a year left. Kitching I think stays as we just renewed him.

Woolf, BTA, and Torp fetch £4-6m each though IMO. Woolf has now been promoted twice and people will want that juju, BTA has scored more than ten goals in a season ravaged by injury and Torp is a goal scoring midfielder and set piece specialist. I think there will be interest in all three and as you say Sheaf went for £6m. People underestimate what the going rate for a standard Champ player is.

I can see us getting £20m all in for sales relatively easily if we want.

From what i had heard of Lampard in the past he likes a big squad. I could see Sakamoto staying and Torp. I think he'll see more value in BTA staying over Simms too given he can cover the front 4 positions. But overall, i agree with what you say, the average Champ player is now worth a decent amount of money, nevermind ones that have just been promoted. Teams looking for promotion themselves would be all over players that played a lot of minutes for a team that's just won the league. Up to Lampard how many he feels like cashing in on.

Definitely, Blues would probably pay 20 million for him given some of the sums they've splashed on dogshit strikers

They’d have spent £10m on Biamou

Sakamoto had a contract extension back in the autumn as far as I remember.
