The second part of this post contradicts the first I think. A team can't both 'do a number' on another one while the other forces the keeper into multiple top class saves and misses a bunch of massive chances.
For me you can, they rode their luck at points but they had stopped us getting into a proper rhythm. Their keeper made a few good saves, especially from Kitch, the rest was on us not being cynical/actively bad Infront of goal.

They did their bit and it paid off for them. Like I said I'll hand them a bit of praise, a good team in good form, absolutely not anything to worry about.

Do a number = get away with 2 or 3 red card challenges.

Just about all the stats were in our favour except for goals scored. Yes they did a number on us by trying to get our players sent off and kept going into our players with studs showing. They got the luck in front of goal.

That's the Championship though isn't it? they set out to disrupt our midfield, they got some luck but ultimately it worked.

VAR might have had a say but we know that's not in action at this level, and to be fair we have got away with a few in recent weeks, Tats Vs Preston... Onyeka against basically everyone (actually might be a bit a problem in the Prem with him)

Doing a number I take to mean nullifying the other side in some sort of way. If they still created plenty of good chances and your keeper's had to have the game of the season, I don't agree.

Probably just semantics on my part

We're hopeful of that as it would stand us in great stead.

Even if Ipswich win their game in hand and beat Millwall (which would be potentially the worst outcome of those 2 games for us) we would be 2 points clear of them with 6 other games to play, one of which is Sheff Wed still. Millwall would then be 8 points behind us for those remaining 6 games to make up as well with an inferior GD.
Wouldn't Ipswich be ahead of you in that scenario? Or is this with you beating Ipswich in your match?

It would be a perfect match day if we could beat Swansea, Boro lose at Blackburn and Ipswich & Millwall draw.

Would put an extra toe in the PL and mean the international break is stress free.
It would, but I feel like we have had a bit of good fortune with results in general recently.

I think what is more likely is Boro go and win, we draw and Ipswich win.

But this league is mad.

Which games do you think we were fortunate to win?

I assume they were talking about luck in others dropping points rather than us winning.

I'd have never thought Boro would drop so many at home against the teams they have.
That was because everyone was panicking Ipswich, Millwall and Boro would win every game, which was never gonna happen.

I never thought we'd drop points at home to Oxford or lose at QPR. I also didn't see Boro going to Birmingham and winning, yet all those things happened.

We went on a honking run of form to make both places up for grabs, again I don't think anyone really expected that either.

If that happened, you'd be 10 points clear of us, 11 clear of the other two, with a vastly better GD, only 7 games to go (one of which is Sheff Wed) and us still playing both Ipswich and Millwall?

That's not an extra toe in the Prem, that's only one toe hanging out of the Prem?🤣

Would that be Haji's toe by any chance?

I think it would be more like a leg than a toe, if that happened.

Until we're knob deep in the premier league it doesn't matter
