Is it true 8 starts and 8 wins this season??

That’s pretty impressive isn’t it?

In the league 8 starts, 5 wins, 3 draws, 2 clean sheets. A start and a loss in the cup.

Sloppy passing first half but solid after

Yes, awful pass that led to the chance Bamford ought to have scored from. Lati does seem to have a knack though of being a bit lucky in that his occasional errors on the ball don't lead to goals. That is something you can't put a value on. He is however defensively solid and reliable off the ball, which the team were starting to cry out for, and his recent selection has undoubtedly given us a more solid foundation.

Thomas did one just as bad never gets mentioned. Kitching does about five a game. It’s confirmation bias all the way down.

I don’t think it is. The general trend is that we conceded more goals when we play Lati than when we didn’t. That was the case up until the last few games.

Kitching in particular had a bad run of games and unfortunately for him, played himself out of the starting 11.

Irrespective of league status next season, a marquee signing needs to be a CB. I think Thomas could make the grade and Lampard rates him highly but I don’t have confidence that Lati, Kitching and Wolf can make the step up.

To be fair Lati did it at West Brom as well. Any opposition manager watching will see opportunities there if you can press him on the ball.

I really was one of the Lati doubters when he started to come back into the frame but ….although there’s still time, he hasn’t actually done a lot wrong. Thomas still gives the ball away a lot more than him. His pace is always a worry but usually if the opposition knock a long ball over the top of him then we have a very alert top class keeper waiting to mop up.

Wolf all ready made the step up with Ipswich. Got to give him a chance

I think it's more than a run of games for Kitching. He's been inconsistent since probably West Brom (H) way back in November when he was largely culpable for both their goals.

He'd be badly exposed in the PL IMO.

I think that Lati is a very solid player.

His flexibility has also been useful to us, although it isn't that important now we have greater squad depth.

As a bit part player who they would’ve lets us sign in Jan 2025 had Ipswich first choice CBs been fit.

If he’s nominally 4th choice this season, is there a future for him next season? Frankly, we probably need 2 CBs as things stand if we got promoted.

Has anyone got a list of Premier League penis sizes? Just wondering if Lati will have the biggest dick in the Premiership.

I reckon Haaland will have a big schlong. Is it girth or length that counts?

Imagine telling someone after we lost 3-0 at home to Preston last season that by March 2026 we’d be top of the Champ with Lati and Dasilva as key parts of the defence.

I think I’ve got the game right but it was the one where they played it into the space between Lati and Dasilva every time and we looked an absolute car crash.

Incredible the progress from both.

I’d like Frank to reinstate Lati for the next match. He isn’t perfect, but his defensive reliability and smart positioning in the box make a real difference.

I expect lati to come back in, but neither goal yesterday would have been prevented by Lati being on the pitch.
We’ll never know for sure, but their second goal from the corner just seemed to drift straight through everyone. Watching it back, someone really should have got something on it.

He might well have prevented both.

Entire Defence Ball watching for the first and Lati could have followed the shot in and prevented the Soton player from scoring.

Second he could have marked the player who the ball hit and got to the ball first, booting it to safety.

Both sloppy defensive errors-both easily preventable.

So of course he could have prevented the goals.

There's no chance for the first, he wouldn't have been anywhere near as left sided centreback. Milan and Woolfie are too deep and EMC completely MIA defensively pulls Grimes out and leaves grimes and Dasilva 3v2 so like Kitching he would have been pulled across, and wouldn't be anywhere near the player to follow in the shot, who ran past Milan in the right back area.

Second maybe, but given that our centrebacks zonal mark, it's likely like Kitching he wouldn't have been in the right position. The biggest issue there is letting the ball get through in the first place.

This isn't having a go at Lati or dissing him, he's been solid but it's too easy to say we prevent both goals if Lati plays. Whilst our record with him playing is outstanding, we have conceded goals with him on the pitch.

Lati did his best to singlehandedly throw away the result at Bristol lol

I'm not sure I'd blame either of the CBs for the goals - first one, it's a dangerous ball in and quite unfortunate with the combination of Rushworth and the post putting it right on Downes' toe. Second goal one of the three players near the front post has to get contact on the ball, you can't have a corner landing on the grass in the 6 yard box.

Wouldn't mind him starting at Swansea though. I don't think it makes much difference. Thomas is clearly our best CB, need him back.

Lati had to take that red card because he dithered on the ball/gave it a way which he’s done a few times prior (Sheff U and maybe WBA).

He’s played well in this stretch but was only a moment or two from disaster. We went 2-0 up with 10 men and ended up winning the game so it was all sun and rainbows… had we dropped points the perception of Lati would’ve been much more harsh.

Lati isn’t perfect but their 9 yesterday had the freedom of the CBS to take the ball down and play. Lati would have made it more difficult for him.

Maybe true, but he's much worse in possession, doesn't have the ability to step into midfield like the others do. It's pick your poison really.
