Kitching in for Lati, Onyeka in for Torp (if fit) and BTA in for Eccles.

This is permitting Rudi and Bobby are not fit has been suggested.

Back 4 picks itself. It looked as if Saka was hobbling worse than me after walking football....!, on Saturday, so Esse to start;

Close call between Eccles/Torp in midfield but hopefully FTT is fit, so I'd pick Torp (just) as we are at home;

I think BTA has looked really fresh when he's come on over the past 2/3 games and is pushing for a start but for me, I see:

Rushie
MvE Woolf Kitch JDS
Onyeka Grimes
EsseTorp EMC
Wright

Dovin was unregistered to accommodate Onyeka into the 25 man squad

There is an option to re-add him back in should he be fit and we have an injury crisis in goal but it's safe to assume he won't be seen in a matchday squad for the rest of the season

Ok but do we know if he is actually training, or is he still having issues with his knee?

Another gnarly, uninspiring tough championship game. The type which can define seasons and where we can end up being frustrated and disappointed if we dont win the individual battles first.

Despite their supporters pessimism, as most teams do, they will want to make it as difficult as possible for the league leaders on their home ground.

Expect it to be similar type of game to Stoke - hoping we edge a nervy 1-0 win.

I agree: that’s what I’m expecting.

It’s the sort of game that we might well have struggled in until recently but the signing of Onyeka and a formation tweak have given us more grittiness and the ability to grind out results when needed.

I also reckon we will win 1-0, although an early goal might mean we do better offensively when they are under pressure to chase the game. I will worry if they score first though, as it could turn out like the Norwich match.

This is a game I worry about. Always struggle against Preston, and with teams around us continuing to win, this is a must win, especially with difficult game on Saturday
Each game is a worry if you let it be. They're on a poor run. We're on a good run and are excellent at home. They have D2 L3 in last 5 games. We have won all 5.

No game is a given in the Championship. But some are easier than others. This is one of the easier games.

They are definitely going to set up to defend , I pray we get a couple of early goals ..if not it’s a draw at best ..it is Preston after all

Woolfendon and Kitching aren't first choice centre-halves right now. So Onyeka should play, I can't see us throwing Bidders in for 5 at the back at home. So Rushworth; Da Silva/Woolfendon/Kitching/van Ewijk; EMC/Grimes/Onyeka/Sakamoto; Wright - as to the Torp/Eccles debate any chance of BTA?

Surely we’re not panicking about playing an awful Preston team at home, well batter them, I know every game from now is a bit nervy but come on, 4-0

There's no panicking. Its just having realisation that football results don't always follow logic. After all its only a few weeks ago that Preston were only denied a win at Ipswich by an injury time winner. Hopefully we do end up battering them, but one of the dangers of not doing so is if our players also complacently believe they only have to turn up to win.

On paper, for sure
