This is a good example of why Clive is missed so.
Yep you better believe itThe mccoist one vs Wolves still gives me goosebumps, despite watching it 50+ times
The Huckerby vs Man U one especially. My grandad was a Man U fan and its my last memory listening to it on the radio with him. Think I knocked his glassess offIs there anywhere online you can access old radio ones? Seem to remember some great ones from Gurney back in the Prem days

Stuart Linnell‘s commentary when Killer got the late winner against, I think Luton, when we had to win our last 3 games to stay up is a particular favourite
I Remember thatI know this isn't a Goal commentary, but it's comedy Gold.
It has to be when Dan phoned in to speak to Stuart Linnell after the away leg at Crewe, he was complaining we hadn't scored a goal.
And Stuart kept saying Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan we scored two goals to win 2.0
And Dan said, did they.
He left the game in injury time.![]()

That's the best one for me , wasn't it boxing day or an Xmas fixture? The Huckerby vs Man U one especially. My grandad was a Man U fan and its my last memory listening to it on the radio with him. Think I knocked his glassess off![]()
Think it was between xmas and new yearThat's the best one for me , wasn't it boxing day or an Xmas fixture?
Not only did Clive mistake a black guy for a white guy, but what did he think Milan would be doing popping up on the far stick on the left? It was only made worse by BBC editing it when they played it back to try to make it sound like the error never happened!
That was a great season-end, surely the greatest of the Great Escapes? We were totally written off but I was a kid and had the optimism of youth, I genuinely believed, and that has stayed with me when all seems lost in other seasons such as the White Heart Lane year. It might also be the first ever time that I got something right that dad got wrong!Stuart Linnell‘s commentary when Killer got the late winner against, I think Luton, when we had to win our last 3 games to stay up is a particular favourite
