We'd have to completely implode for Millwall to catch us so I'm happy for them to keep picking up the points and get themselves into second place.
Oh I’m not concerned about them catching us, but they are absolutely in the conversation for second spot. Especially if those xG defying dickheads at Hull are.

Just checked the rest of Ipswich fixtures till end of the season. I actually think they'll be lucky to drop 4 points from all of them. Very favourable run in.
Not sure how to read this. Lucky to drop only 4 points I agree. 11 wins 2 draws from last 13 games. If you think they will go the rest of the season not losing a game and win 11 of their remaining games I'll have some of what you're on.

This is true and it's getting slimmer as ALL the top 8 bar us have won for the second game on the bounce.

Which as a Boro fan we fully expect.🤣
I raved about your footballing ability after playing us , but sometimes you have to mix it up and win at any cost

Weve gone from open expansive football to simply " win however "

Some really bizarre comments on the Boro forum (again)
There always are with the run of results that's happemed recently, not just our results, but for everyone else as well. The rest of the top 8 all winning for the second game in a row is quite a remarkable statistic in itself mind you, but as I've said we're generally a pessimistic bunch, which has been instilled in us by lifetimes of non-achievement.

It does also mean that a run of good performances gets celebrated like the second coming of Christ as it's so out of the blue mind!🤣

The fact we'll have pisstaking and debates between realists and certified bedwetters is nothing new though, yyou'd doubtless get that on here during a run that is less than satisfactory.

We sort of dented Middlesbrough - as usual - they've come back to Earth and we've kicked on. 3 clubs will catch them now, while Southhampton is motoring behind Wrexham as well.

Re Coventry I can’t wait to see all these Youtube experts discussing their tactics like they did with us a few weeks ago. “They play Lampball. Get the keeper to kick it as far as he can to two big lumps up front and hope the opposition defence make a schoolboy error”.

"Deflected winner" oh just **** off.

There's no way we get the breaks other sides do.

Hoping a change of badge brings a change of luck because barring the AK promotion we've massively underperformed since Gibson green lit it. Doesn't seem to matter who plays for us or who manages us.

I mean we've zero chance of going up through the play-offs if we don't finish top 2. That requires a modicum of good fortune and winning at Wembley.

It's why Coventry score so many late winners. We're a better footballing side, but lack their athletic, brute force approach.

Lampard was quoted in an article last week saying something about them needing to learn to take the rough and tumble of the Champioship. From what i have seem most of the rough and tumble comes from them. Horrible team with good strikers.

As much as 'Stupid Sexy Strelec' posts like he's my long lost brother, 'Hellball' was exactly how we were playing for the first half of the season. It's very, very short memories to characterise us as hoof ball merchants.

I'm more on about some of the comments on our playing style and your run of 6 wins which included the opposition literally booting it into their own top corner and missing sitters from point blank. As said before, I find it really odd to see comments about this run of games being compared to how we performed for the first half of the season, and even more odd because the playing styles were nearly identical.

There is more than 1 style to football , youd argue we are more prepared for premier league football in general with our big athletic powerful team .

Sure at times its ugly but over 64 games weve achieved 123 points under lampard .. its not a fluke at this point its simply effective football

I like boro and their fans are pretty sound but football is more than simply passing a ball , they dont score enough for starters

Its sour grapes is what it is. We've been the best team in the league pretty much all season and are exactly where we deserve to be.

Just think for example you look at how we played first half today...lots of triangles clearly worked on to beat their press and it got a lot of joy. Should have been miles ahead by half time playing really nice stuff.

First half of the season too it was the best football I've seen us play in this league. As I've said a few times now, there's a big recency bias where this seems to have been forgotten.

There is a lot of truth in this.

In terms of play, we're the most attractive side to watch in the league and are capable of playing football that most of the rest of the league wouldn't be able to match at all.

This has been developed with the players we have in mind and is what we're set up to do. The problem is that when it's not successful, we don't have many players we can long ball it to the head of, barge others off the ball etc, we simply don't have many personel to clog it and win ugly when we have to, which is a weakness.

Ironically we'd probably be set up better to play in the Prem with our style, as most sides we face would NOT low block their way to grab a draw or a win against the run of play. They would go toe to toe with us as their players are quicker and have more skills. Plus their fans would be kicking off at seeing their side play a low block, against a team just promoted from the champo no less, which would work in our favour.

The issue of course is getting to the Prem in the first place🤣 There's just not as much "Luton" in us as we'd like, which is a disadvantage.

The game against them at home we were gritty. We were bang out of form and they were bang in it and flowing with confidence. We played that game exactly the right way to win it in the circumstance, and if they don't understand that, then that's quite strange.

They've obviously forgotten the game at the Riverside, which was won in a completely different way.

Weve been top for about 200 days .. we are top because weve been the best team
Letting them go top for about 4 days was like stroking their cocks above the trousers. They've been left with blue balls while just went and joyously shot our bolt everywhere.

We were gritty in the second half, but again in the first it was a complete performance. The game plan at home of going at it first half then sitting off in the second isn't a bad one and without some exceptional goalkeeping and wasteful finishing we'd have been putting our feet up in the second half today.

It's easy for some to forget how good your run towards the end of last season was tbf, are those the stats since Lampard was appointed?

Tbh I'm even more surprised that with those games in hand on the sides in 2nd and 3rd we could somehow be 2nd ourselves in this table, even with ballsing it up at the back end of last season🤣
