This isn't about 'us'. Us being the majority of the country. Most people you will speak to accept that immigration should not be zero. I've just said that as well (you haven't listened again), and if you speak to most normal people, they agree this is the case.
The reason people are voting reform is because people like you, and the government, refuse to listen. You are doing exactly the same thing now, whilst pointing the finger.
This is quite an exhausting cycle, and you just aren't getting it.

Voting reform, just like Brexit is largely a protest. Most normal people aren't looking at these situations and voting because they idolise Farage and think he is going to solve their problems. The country is at a breaking point, and people have had enough.

The last government and the current government have no shut up about immigration. Its hardly something that's being ignored.
People are going to Reform because they are a) blaming everything on immigrants and b) promising something there is zero chance they will be able to deliver. Its easier to just go along with that rather than tackle the complex issues and the countries own shortcomings.
Its very easy when you're in opposition and have never been in power to claim you have all the solutions, without actually giving any details of those solutions.

I don't vote for reform but people are clearly going to them because there is nobody else willing to at least address the issues. On the other hand you have Starmer just trying to call everybody racist if they have an issue.
Still, what Ratcliffe said distracted away from him for a little bit so job done.

But facts don't matter to many people. More people will take notice of Ratcliffe's made up figures than the actual facts above.
(some of the blame for that must go to the government for not pushing this stuff harder)

He got his numbers wrong, he also said 'the UK has been colonised by immigrants' which I think is what pissed people off.
Doesn't help that he lives in Monaco to avoid paying tax here, a place where the majority of the population are foreign nationals!

Where did I say you think immigration should be zero? I didn't - you've inferred it because it's what you want me to have said. You're hearing what you want to hear, not what's actually being said. Someone makes figures up and says the country's problems are due to immigration - you believe that person is listening. Someone says immigration is an issue and we need robust measures to control it but there's also far more to it than just foreigners coming over here - you believe that person is not listening.
You've literally said in this thread "didn't get the numbers accurate to the nearest one isn't really relevant." Apart from the fact it wasn't 'just a few out' - it was wildly inaccurate - if you don't think having accurate numbers is 'really relevant' to the topic then you're not interested in having an adult conversation about it or what the solutions to it might be.

It is being ignored. What has been done about it? You both continue to spectacularly miss the point and divert.
The people of the UK are done with the level of immigration we have seen. There has been no attempt to tackle it. If you want to continue struggling with discourse and trying to shift the blame back on the common citizen or have a go at them (like you are doing), then it eventually gets to the point where people will take things into their own hands. In this fashion, that is to vote for a pretty extreme option. We saw a similar thing with Brexit, but you still are not learning and have the audacity to say other people are not listening.
You both also keep naively saying people are lapping up Farage et al, but very few people actually care what they say other than the core message, or have much faith in them being the saviours either. It is a protest. People have had enough. You keep failing to get that. None of it else matters. You keep getting caught up on Farage or what a celebrity says, or focussing on too many specifics - most people outside of your bubbles don't give a shit about any of that. They want to see the topic sensibly discussed (which the left have continuously impaired for decades) and immigration tackled as a matter of urgency, and it has not been. As I pointed out, the reaction to Ratcliffe is prime candy and backs this up. Looking down on people doesn't help either. That does more to push people away and towards the arms of Reform.
There are a few of you on here that really have no clue what most people think and feel, so if you want to bury your heads in the sand for a bit longer then that's unfortunately on you.

If you chose to ignore the things that are being done about it then sure, nothing has been done.
But Ratcliffe says there's 12 million people come in and that's what people are choosing to believe, not the above.

The 12 million figure is net immigration since 2001 from 58m to 70m population. Not sure what JR was referring to as I've not seen the quote. If we continue to accelerate at over 20% increase in a generation with already not enough housing and resources then we're finished as a prosperous country.
On 58k leaving, that would be fine if more than 58k in the same period hadn't arrived, but we're not even net zero versus the boats which as we all know is only a small part of illegal immigration.
He said the population was 58 million in 2020 and is now 70 million so has increased by 12 million.
The UK population was last 58 million in 1995, so just the quarter of a century out Jim.
