They are probably holding off announcing Frank because they want something definite to post at 7pm. Not to say we aren't working on other deals just it's a better look/bit of a shield from the mental fans if we have one positive post to conclude the window, especially if other deals don't work out.

They posted about Woolf relatively late on after trying to have done other deals that didn’t materialise. This will be similar

It’s not really on the manager regarding Dasilva
Of course it is.

His limitations are what they are, and to avoid them being exploited, he should be used in a way that doesn't expose them.

I agree that he needs to be replaced, but until he is, we can't keep setting up as if he were a different player, or the same things will keep happening.

It’s not really on the manager regarding Dasilva - he’s on contract and was a big signing at the time. He has tried to play the game high up the pitch to use Dasilva one attribute of close control and movement.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard overawed by the towering reputation of Jay Dasilva who he can’t afford to drop after being signed for the princely sum of £0.

Who remembers the good old days of relying on ClubCall for transfer rumours? And then waiting for Ceefax to confirm transfers?

I (well my mum) spent a fortune calling this. I remember listening to the whole of the second half of the Norwich game in 88/89. At about 49p per minute. My mum went mental! Worth it though as we won.

It’s clear we need support in the middle and Onyeka seems to fit the bill for helping us defensively.

Esse will add value to the team and while the jury is still out on Yang, at the very least he gives us depth.

However, can’t help but feel disappointed if that’s all we get in.

Biggest chance of promotion since relegation, massive re-build on the cards if we don’t go up, a squad of players we know can perform at a high level - but they need help and we’re at a bit of a make or break stage with results and performances.

One game changing headline signing could re-ignite fans and players - and help get us over the line at a time we really need it.

we may still get it too… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can't really argue if we're constrained by finances really.

well one of my tips is no longer happening….. so not holding out much hope for the other!!

we had apparently looked at Tommy Watson from Brighton, but he’s gone to Milwall for the rest of the season

When I was a hormone-fuelled young man, I phoned done of those dodgy 0898 numbers from the back of the newspapers, where saucy sounding ladies spoke of sexy times so slowly that you could only assume they had some kind of cognitive issue. When the phone bill came through my mother went mental. I told her I'd called clubcall. She said she believed me. Now, as a parent of a teenager myself, I know she quite clearly didn't.

ClubCall used to bait you with headlines like "City in for Liverpool ace" and it turning out to be Mike Marsh.

I lived with a Blues fan at Uni and the Birmingham ClubCall under Barry Fry's tenure would say stuff like "13in, 7 out - phone for details"

Club Call and Team Talk were a route to eventually calling horny women at home…
