No PLAN B (5 Viewers)

Thing that I don't get with Grimes is that his passing was fabulous early in the season and he hardly ever gave the ball away.

Mr. Consistent. Now all of a sudden, some of his passing seems to have gone to shit. 🤷🏻‍♂️
When he hammered the ball at JDS out of play right at the end yesterday I just completely lost it. I hate to play armchair psychologist but I have no idea what’s gone on there.

Entire club from manager to fans seems to have lost their head.

Speaking of plan B - how long are we going to keep up the long throws? I’m not even saying give them up for the entire season, but surely at some point in any given game you have to concede it’s not working and save yourself all the extra stoppage time and MVE sprints required to set them up again and again.

Thank you - i'm glad it's not just me that can't see this!

Not sure why everyone is jumping on the 'Grimes needs a rest' bandwagon.

He regularly plays a full season at this level and it's not a position where he's running the most. He's fit, strong and doesn't rely on pace. Only a few weeks ago, everyone agreed how important he is, that hasn't changed. What he needs is help in there.

Whether that's Onyeka or another I have no idea, but a strong ball winner who works box to box.
But has he been playing in teams that require him to put in some much effort and take on so much of the defensive midfield duties?

And how often has in been in this position, as leader of a team top of the division?

It's very possible he's both physically and mentally fatigued.

Absolutely it's possible, but I keep reading that his fatigue is the reason for our downturn, I think that's a good way down the list. Hopefully Onyeka is what he needs rather than taking out of the team
