Yang wasn't even second choice at Portsmouth, couldn't get in the team when Josh Murphy was out. Hope he can contribute whilst here but not a great endorsement of his ability.
Pretty sure he will get minutes when we are not trying to see a game out, like we have in the last two. EMC has been really on it recently so limits his chances. We have suffered from lacking back ups. That has now been partially addressed.
Portsmouth are a team of battlers. We are more sophisticated than that.
As a class act, attacking full backs he will fit right in.
There is a reason Real Madrid wanted to sign him.

the thing that gets me is, we've only got 2 loans in, surely PAYING for 1 or 2 more won't bankrupt us or affect next seasons buget. We'll get £160M for promotion, if that strains our budget, we have to be poorly run ffs!!
The level of player required to up our quality requires top dollar. No point going for cheap, poor substitutes.
It's January, and clubs will be upping the ante.
It is because we are sensibly run (unlike Leicester or Sheff U), that we won't be taken to the cleaners by other clubs.
In the past Richardson gambled, overstretched our budget and ultimately we ended up in Div 2.

We were in for him aswell

2 of the 4 targets now not happening, Neil and Martel

Wanna hope we pull off one of Onyeka and Hamer now or its going to be a very awkward window...
Hamer doubtful, why would Sheffield Utd sell on the cheap when he's clearly shown at the weekend he's a quality player.

It's Onyeka or nothing and I suspect it will be nothing.

What are his off field issues sorry?

Other than liking a kebab or two, or a night in samoan joes?
It just like the Viveash bullshit that was spun about him and turned out to be erroneous.
Some people start making jokes about Hamer's lifestyle and suddenly it gets endlessly repeated and becomes fact.
There is a simple reason Hamer never moved on from Sheff U, they were asking £15 million plus and no one was prepared to take a gamble.
Where is the evidence his off field lifestyle has effected his on field performances. Where is it documented outside of on here?

Paul mate, he might also just be injured; Frank doesn’t have to tell you or the opponent everything you know…

To be honest, I’m not that fussed about Neil. Obviously a good Championship player but it’s not a given he improves the starting eleven.

Ipswich have got Prem money but their recruitment is geared towards being too good for the Championship, but not good enough for Prem imo.

surely considering they are trying to get out the champ their recruiting should be geared towards that?

The fact that you can see him bursting out of his shirt is a small indicator.

Sounds like Ipswich are trying to prevent city from signing players that would help them get up. Bet you Neil wouldn't start if Ipswich sign him

They’ve already spent £100-150m on championship talent, I’m not sure Neil improves them that much. Maybe he starts ahead but of Jack Taylor?

For us, I don’t think he’s better than Grimes or Torp.

The Ipswich fan said they had spent £200 million in the last three seasons before this January.
Get the feeling if they go up, they won't prosper.
