There's no deal done at all.

NATO is not Denmark, let alone Greenland.

This is simply Trump backing down whilst being allowed to save face for his domestic audience.

There's never been an issue with allowing U.S. bases in Greenland, which is all that this deal will achieve.

Trump wanted a land grab, Europe and Canada stood together, the markets got spooked, Trump backed down. It's a common pattern.

All he's achieved is to sow further distrust with his allies, and show them how to defeat his bullshit and bluster. Not at all smart, but then as his demonstrates when he talks, he's a rather stupid man.

Thats what I was saying in previous posts and why he was never going to be taking it by force. It’s standard Trump playbook. Likely there will be some agreement around access to rare earths and protection though. The bluster was totally unnecessary and extra strange in this instance….as I say he’s lost it to some extent

It’s mad how they get away with this stuff and so many people just don’t care.
Life's too short to get uptight about something you have zero influence over.

And it's that kind of apathetic attitude that's got us to this point. If everyone thought like that, the world would be a much, much worse place right now.
Maybe one day you'll understand the difference between doing what you can where you can make a difference and wasting energy.

I reckon my point went right over your head.

Not just to some extent, mate, he's lost it completely unless he really is doing Putin's work for him.

He's literally achieved nothing for the U.S. here beyond what they would have been welcome to anyway, but he's lost the trust of his key European allies and set them further on the path of disengagement.

Trump is either a lunatic or Putin's stooge. Possibly both. The U.S. is not stronger for all this latest nonsense, it's weaker.

Hardly; it wasn't that deep but nice try at being condescending.

As I said, luckily throughout history people haven't been as apathetic as you.

Cognitively speaking there’s no way you can’t operate at the required level with all the decisions that need to be made, travelling etc etc at his age, let alone add another three years. That’s before you bring ego and greed into it

Parking any party politics, to have Biden and now Trump as leader of the free world is worrying. surely they’ve got to bring in an age limit

The people who were loudly declaring that Kamala Harris would have been a disaster in this respect are rightly quiet at the moment. Far from perfect but she would not have ruined America's alliances and international standing in record time like this maniac has.

I don't think this is the truth of what happened. Can you verify it?
Is a Fox News affiliate OK?

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (FOX 9) - Columbia Heights school officials say a 5-year-old boy was used as "bait" for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain him and his father.

Columbia Heights Public Schools Superintendent Zena Stenvik said that four students have been detained by ICE.

One of the students, 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, was detained Tuesday afternoon. Ramos had just arrived home from preschool when he and his father were apprehended in their driveway.

Stenvik says another adult who lives in the home with Ramos "begged" agents to let them take care of the child, but was refused.

Agents then took Ramos out of the still-running vehicle and led to the front door of his home, Stenvik said. The agents then told him to knock on the door, asking to be let in.

Stenvik said the 5-year-old was "essentially used as bait."

The boy's middle school-aged brother then came home to see his father and little brother missing. The boys' mother was not detained by ICE.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says ICE agents "did not target" the 5-year-old. They allege that the boy's father is in the country illegally, and he was targeted in the operation. DHS goes on to say that the father fled on foot when agents approached him.

"Parents are asked if they want to be removed with their children, or ICE will place the children with a safe person the parent designates," DHS said in a statement.

DHS did not address the claims that the 5-year-old was used as "bait."

Yeah, there's footage of ICE waiting outside schools until kids come out and grabbing people up as they arrive to collect their children. You love to see it! Littlejohn's vision for Britain, apparently.

What an apt name for him by the way. The ultimate 'cuck' move surely, wanting your country to be bought out by Daddy Trump.

The child was detained and has been sent to a detention centre in Texas. This has been confirmed by school officials and the family: Boy, 5, seized by ICE agents on way home from school

The child was grabbed on the way home from school, used as bait to get his father outside, then was shipped off to Texas along with his father. He's not even the only child this happened to that day, but he is the youngest.

It's a horrifying chain of events. I cannot see how anyone could justify this or rationally argue that this is genuinely in the best interests of US security.

The story says he was taken away with the father?

According to Homeland Security, the version of events found in some media, and even on this thread is not true. The bloke ran away and abandoned the kid. I am not sure what the problem is here. If they are illegal then border security are doing their job. If something more amiss has happened then by all means it can be a discussion point, but I don't think the fake news is helpful.

To be honest I don't believe a single thing that comes out of their mouths. They murdered a US citizen in broad daylight and then told some barefaced lies to try and excuse it. You of course spent some time on here blaming the victim for what happened to her.

ICE should be shut down immediately.

I mean, sure, if you want to believe that Homeland Security are telling the truth in this situation and that the senior school official quoted in the articles posted in this thread is lying, then why not.

Even if the father ran away and abandoned the child: What is your justification for the child being sent to a Texas detention centre?

You just said the quiet part out loud Mr open borders. Also, this has nothing to do with me. Please stop this projection you keep doing after you have said something incorrect and been called out. Fake news is not good for anyone.

They've been wildly engaging in illegal activity themselves and are functioning more as Trump's brownshirts than a form of law enforcement. That's quite different to believing in open borders.

You agree with snatching people at random based on their skin colour or accent? I don't.

I think there's a chance anyone on either side of this is lying, but if you outright believe these witnesses (the same kind of people who recently have been causing disturbances across cities, and as recently as last weekend stormed a church for the supposed greater good) then I don't know what to say to you. There's agendas all over the place, yet you've got people on here posting bits of fake news on here deliberately trying to wind people up without even taking the time to check it or give context.
