I am saying that some of people that oppose immigration and customs enforcement have behaved in a pretty detestable way, and it would not be beyond one of them to lie and make something up to suit their agenda. There are two conflicting stories here.

Shut it down and replace it with something that doesn't send masked goons around to break the law. They don't allow people due process, they target people based on appearance/accent, and recently they murdered a US citizen trying to drive away from them. They're no better than violent thugs, causing more trouble than they prevent.

Obama was known as the 'deporter in chief' and he achieved that moniker without engaging in this sort of activity. Go through the courts, get a warrant signed by a judge and do it by the book. Allow the people you detain access to a lawyer and the right to defend themselves in court.

I see each situation differently though, so when he does something I don't automatically lose my shit because it takes an evaluation, not just a simple 'orange man bad' response. Apparently 22,000 people are employed by them, so it would be one hell of an effort to shut it down and start from nothing. There would essentially be no immigration enforcement within the inside of country during that time. It isn't something I would want to do personally.

Not true actually. In 2016 I saw a lot of his appeal and may even have voted for him myself if I were in the US. He even mentioned single payer healthcare during that first election campaign. His first term was pretty poor, but the vaccine rollout 'Operation Warp Speed' was really well done. Then he lost the 2020 election and totally lost the plot in his attempts to get the result overturned. From that point on I've regarded him as a criminal who should have been put on trial for his election interference.

Instead he has been rewarded with a second term which he has used to persecute his political opponents, indulge in regime change operations and engage in off the scale levels of fraud and corruption. It's a disgrace.

I just don't see this regime willing to even make changes, as I said they're basically a gang of criminals themselves. It may need scrapping or at least renaming for a different reason: the US public as a whole seems to have really turned against them.
