I'm a simple old man whose confused by posts on this forum
A few weeks ago I was advised that KKH was a waste of money because he was too good to be a back up for MVE
Then I was advised that Latibaudiere was a luxury as he was only fourth choice CB.
Now everyone who has an agenda against the owner is complaining that we haven't spent enough on squad players.

This is going to blow your mind:

There’s actually more than one person you’re reading posts from on here.

We’ll only be signing back up players so I wouldn’t expect too much, once torp and Asante are back can’t see us changing much, just need cover on the wings, and Asante can play on the left,
Back up players for god sake do we want to get promoted or not

that’s not good enough

Which signings have his contemporaries made so far that we should have signed instead?
Not sure that’s relevant. But lots of clubs have made signings since the end of last season.

His job is to make sure CCFC have a squad though and we don’t. Us losing out now to other teams or having to pay through the nose as you suggest is a symptom of his earlier failures to build the squad needed in the summer.

Every window we’ve had the same thing of chasing an overpriced player it going all the way to the end and half the time us not even getting the player.

Could Rapha and Bassette potentially fill that role?

We were talking about that yesterday, there’s no way Lampard or king thought we’d be where we are, just got that horrible feeling kings happy if we finished 3rd, and had another crack in the play offs, but surely being this close just go and sign some proper quality, if Bassette comes back then it’s just to make the squad numbers up, we’ll know how serious Doug is when the first signing comes in, hoping for grimes levels

Can you explain your logic for why King might want us to finish third please ?

Shouldnt have addressed the fans with a rallying call if that’s the case.

I still think we’ll spend money on someone out the blue who we haven’t been linked with

Wagner? I'm suprised you would want him ahead of JDS given you're his biggest fanboy! Much has also been made of us already having 3 LB's, notwithstanding we would also not be in a position to match whatever Wagner will be getting paid by Birmingham.

So far we have had a squad to see us through this far. We are top of the league!

I agree however that we need new players brought in this window. The time to judge the window will be when its over rather than now however.

Hope so, surely spending a few million in Jan is nothing compared to what he’ll get in the summer, plus he’s covered himself if he gives Lampard what he wants, if esse is the first one in he’s having a proper go

Just watching incester v baggies and Jrdon James is quite a good player. On loan from Rennes with a view to buy for 4 million at the end of the season! I think Doug should distable him by offering 5 million now as long as he comes to us straight away, if he doesn't his head be fucked thinking about what coud be.

I don’t think I’ve said Wagner anywhere?

Is the prize money for the Play-off winner not greater than 1st/2nd? They say its the richest prize in football so would suggest he/the club would profit more for a play-off win than a league win?

I really don’t understand why people think we can’t possibly sign better than what we have either. Grimes Torp and EMC were all January signings and current first teamers.

Watching same match.
I reckon right wing Micky Johnston would be a great acquisition. Always causes us problems.
Albion are a selling club.
2 or 3 mill might do it.

What's scary about us at the minute is the lack of home grown players that we are not producing. We need to start getting younger players that are capable of pushing into the first team. We just seem to get them to bench and that's it, they go on loan and then get released. If we could produce more young quality we wouldn't have been as stretched as much as we have been. That said we need a lively attacking midfielder as a must who can take the ball on the turn from Grimes and commit players. That's the absolute minimum for this window.

What??!!
The prize money for the play offs is peanut compared to actually getting to the PL and the winners usually give their share to the runner up anyway.

It's the richest prize in football because winning that one off game gets you to the PL, something the teams in the auto slots have already achieved..

Didn’t say he wants us to finish 3rd said theres no way he’d expect us to be top, just hoping he doesn’t think finishing 3rd would be enough, you’d expect play off final at least

No

They say that because its decided by one single game

That is completely false. The reward for reaching the premier league is exactly the same only it rests on a single game and is therefore termed ‘the richest game in football.

Even the gate receipts for reaching the final are given away by the winning team under a gentlemen’s agreement.
