Thing that worries me is if its not this season its literally never

Its taken us 25 years, a quarter of a century to get into this position, and the league this season is mental and you have to capitalise.

My concern being if we blow it this year, firstly we have another 'rebuild' to do and we all know that means starting slowly and playing catch up again. Teams such as Birmingham and Wrexham with their cash will be stronger than they are this year. There will be another 3 parachute teams in the mix to add to Ipswich, Southampton, Leicester, etc

We all came to terms with the play off final knowing we were nowhere near ready off the field or on it. This is THE golden opportunity, and if we dont take it we never ever will. It absolutely has to be this season
Typically over-dramatic bollocks. You’ll be saying you won’t bother buying a season ticket again soon.

As I said in the match thread Steve, I've kept my positive hat on going into today as others were writing pretty incredulous stuff...but something about that today has just blown a fuse.

I understand, especially as our defending was shocking (and it was fuckin freezing), however, I doubt if any additions we’re looking at/people are clambering for would’ve changed that element today. I actually thought the rest of our game was pretty good albeit against a poor team (saying that I’d imagine the combined cost of their forwards is double ours).

We all know we’re short of a couple of players. Just trying to bring some perspective

Not that you’d know it from reading this forum, but there are ways to improve performances and results other than just signing new players every time someone plays badly.

I’d understand more if people had been saying we’re desperate for defensive re-enforcements but all I’ve seen is midfield and attackers, which I agree with. That wasn’t the problem today though, Birmingham had 3 shots on target and 30% possession

I’d like to think that defensive inc keeper unit performance won’t be repeated. They’re usually far better than that.

Steady on, you can see we need some fresh legs in, we’re not bottling it, torp and Asante give us more goals, that’s all we need
Torps got a poor injury record of late, he starts performing gets injured comes back rinse and repeat, not his fault but we require another robust midfielder who like to pass the ball forward sometimes, as much as I like Grimes his default pass is backwards or sideways

We are desperate for a quick defender who is quick and can defend on a regular basis

Defensively shambolic today, our midfield was woeful. Simms and Ephron did alright but unless we bring in 2 or 3players this window we will continue to slide down the table.

Our players aren't robots you can see how fucking exhausted mentally and physically they are. Bringing on Andrews just goes to show how bad it is depth wise.

Our lads need some fucking help Doug.
Andrews was brought on late so he counts as one of the 6 for the fa cup I would imagine, others being Bidwell, Wolf, Lati, Allen (if he is in the right mindset) and 1 other that isn't knackered and can be risked

When did they bring this law in? Can't find it anywhere? There was that law for the checkatrade but when did they bring it in for the FA Cup? I've seen teams basically change the whole team for FA cup games?

I think Doug will give Frank what he needs and we'll kick on. If we do cuck it I might be done with football though. I'd certainly come off here, no good could be done staying on.

The break couldn't come at a better time at this point. The last few games have been painful. I think we will get some players in but the mentality needs to be better from the ones we've got regardless.

Doesn't need to be that the world is over but what's been going on has been pretty obvious for a while. Hopefully as you say we will kick on again.

Of course it’s not “now or never”. It’s a ridiculous statement.

13 points clear at halfway. No ones ever been that clear and not done it, imagine the mental toll it would take on players and fans

Milan, Haji, Simms, all.gonna be sold.as last year of contract. Rushworth return, other good players inevitably poached. Another rebuild coming no?

Wrexham and Blues have cash to burn, they will be stronger alongside the likes of West Ham, Wolves Burnley having parachute payments. Youre pissing in the wind if you think this isnt the chance

To be fair didn't you say it was our only chance in both playoff seasons?

It would definitely be harder next few years if we don't make it. However we're going up so who cares. I'd be a bit more worried if we were just churning out shite performances over the past month and losing 4-0 but it's been very fine margins. Reality is it'll likely swing back in our favour.

Of course it’s A chance. But we’ll be in the league next year at worst. I remember all too well the Luton game being the one chance. And yet here we are again.

The main one being resting tired players who over halfway into the season just can't maintain those levels any more.

Except we can't because we don't have good enough back up players to replace them.

So to do that we have to SIGN NEW PLAYERS.

9 point gap to 3rd, our home record is still fine, hit a bit of a stumble but nothing compared to mboro’s and we’ve got a more favourable run of games from now, just keep you’re shit together… talking of we’ve bottled it and play offs, we’ll come out of January with a much better squad
