MVE got pelters for the back pass in the play offs - that was a mistake from a bloke who is of much better stock. Brau just doesn't look the part. He's a mistake waiting to happen. I never really criticise players, they are much better than me, but I can see why many on here want a new LB despite having 3 who could play that position behind JDS.
He didn’t get pesters. Still doesn’t, even though he was at fault for both Ipswich goals. Wright got all the shit for playing whilst obviously injured.

He needs to go out on loan in January to play games. He's got another 3 years left on his contract. I remember saying we shouldn't sign him in the summer, that's it's a massive difference from second div Spanish league to the Championship, yet a lot on here slating him are the same ones saying we needed to sign him in the summer.

Suppose we had to give him a go. He is more natural wing back than Bidwell.

Will be the last we see of him just not at this level.

Think hes going to be 4th choice with KKH 2nd choice left wing back..if we play this system again.

Brau not totally at fault for the goal though today .. for starters why was he left alone 1v1 in that moment ? Its like a written rule isnt it

He got outmuscled and that was his mistake

Dacosta always had that half against Forest…Brau will always have that half at Southampton.
It was basically one run where he beat a couple of players. As a result of that people said he deserved a start.
Much like Raphael against Luton back in August.

I think Brau has looked shaky defensively but is better when he is further upfield. I don't currently see him as a regular starter at LB. He may have some part to play as a more defensive minded LW, playing in front of JDS, if we need to bring EMC off to rest him or if he is injured.

Of course, he may not be needed even in this secondary role if we succeed in getting better cover for EMC in this window.

People will literally never fucking learn to give people time to adapt will they ffs

Especially young players coming from abroad. Remember when Torp was a waste of 2m, too weak, too slow and completely out of his depth in this league?

I assume everyone slagging him off here is confident they would be performing at 100% in their job within 6 months if they moved to Spain?

This is true to an extent. And I would like to think Brau will get better, but I just don't see it in him. Torp on the other hand did take a while, but I saw he had it in him immediately (I know some on here didn't). DaSilva was another one heavily criticised, then this season he has been really good and made the LWB his own.

I agree tbf - Torp was clearly really classy from the outset and with the right coaching was always going to be a success

Da Silva always looked great on the ball but I didn't think would ever be a Champ autos level LB due to his physical deficiencies, and Brau I haven't seen too much in, but the professional recruitment team clearly see potential and people should just be patient with our 4th choice LB tbh

Time to adapt?

I’d understand if he was new and he wasn’t sure whether his role was to high press or stand off and zonal mark or rotate or whatever. He’s been here a long while and should exactly know the CCFC tactics.

The issues of being unable to hold on to the ball, follow a defensive line and stay with his mark and know not to do showboat keepy-uppies and give corners away…..?

Those are not “time to adopt” issues.

Let’s stop hand-wringing over some of these players. Brau has been playing like he’s not been paying attention in training, and let’s not say “poor little foreign man, he needs to learn the language and we need to give him special allowances” or I’ll point to how quickly Tats learned his role.

He panics when he has the ball facing his own goal and an opponent on him. He did it against Ipswich too with those crazy keepy-ups.

You can't have that in a player.

Or…

If Bidwell is ill or in the dog house, Kitching wide and Woolfendon on in his place.

Bidwell is shit and had been for more than a season. People need to start understanding a buzz cut doesn’t make someone a flawless defender.

I would expect in a real world job to be able to do it in 6 months yes

Being out muscled was his 2nd mistake... What on earth was he doing here!? Wasn't even really 1v1, has all the time in the world & could have headed this anywhere except up in the air & backwards.

That goal sums up why he’s not been playing to be honest. I heard a rumour that the coaches rate him technically but he’s far too weak and needs to bulk up. Perhaps he’s one to watch but there’s clearly work to be done and had JDS not been suspended, probably wouldn’t have played.

The header was bad, but the position was recoverable and mistakes happen. It was getting muscled off the ball following the first mistake that was unforgivable in that moment.

Fucked up an easy header and then falls over. Its just the way our football is going at the minute,if you don't take your numerous chances it will come back to haunt you.

He could have taken it down and passed to someone looking at that, in my mind he was in his own half when this happened.

With Bassette, Rodrigues and now Brau we haven't really excelled with project type players which should tell Doug something. And before anyone says Gyokeres came to us as a project, we were in the cheap seats back then

You can't even say getting out muscled is a mistake, sometimes someone is just stronger than you. For me it's his poor header that's the mistake. But I agree with the rest.

Imagine being told that you are too weak and need to bulk up to compete with JDS 💁🏽
