Exactly. He’s calling out bandwagon “fans” that arent really on the journey with us.
We are, rightly or wrongly, on the pathway to it being a privilege to be able to attend the games in person as we sell out the season ticket allocations and then the arena more broadly, he’s expanded home capacity to accommodate and is going to lower prices of upcoming home games to ensure full houses. Fucking sit in your seat and support the lads! He’s not asking for the fucking world!
We had this chat before the game Monday, one lad said the atmosphere was better when we were getting 15,000 , well they’re still there so can’t use that excuse, think the problem is we want this season to be perfect on and off the pitch, my theory the atmosphere, some fans think we’re going to blow it so aren’t getting too carried away, and games like monday don’t help, and some think we’re going to piss the league so aren’t bothered with the atmosphere because we’ll win anyway, think we need one of those convincing wins we used to have just to settle everyone down and remind everyone how good we actually are, pretty sure the next home game the atmosphere will be bang on, sorry for the essay.

Good messsge. Biggest chance of promotion in decades to the Prem. Fans need to support till the end in the ground. Frank was annoyed and just think the optics are really obvious to the players. Yeah results don’t always go our way but this season is very different. We’re top and need to get the team over the line.
Could also reek of 'Panic'! to outsiders?

Agreed on this. Not really any incentive is there.

We haven't missed a game this season, but if we did so putting my ticket on the exchange wouldnt be top of my agenda tbh, food voucher i couldnt care less about

Maybe 20 supporter points and a 10% club shop voucher would sway me
Why should absent supporters benefit more than those who turn up?

20 supporter points would give you an additional 460 pts if you decided to absence yourself for the season. Or perhaps just the 280pts extra in the prem on top of your 190 at the start of the season

I agree with almost the entire message from Doug it boils my piss when fans leave early or the sense of entitlement that has creeped in (it's clear on this forum alone).

The one comment that annoys me is that we are lucky to have season tickets...

Most fans pay very good very hard earned money, and we didn't sell out season tickets in the end did we? About 300 left?

Loved the season under Robins when we scored so many injury time goals that the 'must beat the traffic' brigade would have missed.

Last minute winners tend to create a greater buzz amongst supporters than routine victories, and its great to celebrate such wins afterwards, but maybe there are those that prefer to celebrate those occasions they beat the traffic instead!

People can leave when they want they've paid there money, yes about supporting the team but the team were fucking shit the other night and most people realised they were never getting back in the game.

Talking to son in law who is a palace fan ( born down there so I don’t hold it against him).
Their ticket exchange is 60% of the value of the ticket.
Can have it off next seasons ticket price,or cash equivalent.
Now that is an incentive.
The club/D.K. definitely need to make the ticket exchange more of an incentive...I can fully understand why many can't be arsed with the current setup.

Of course they can but don’t call yourself a fan ( fanatic ) or a supporter, call yourself a spectator !

It’s clearly a personal message to me as I didn’t attend and my seat was empty.

It all goes Fugazi with no Grendel but Sunsets on Empire will soon return

I'm not sure how people going 10 minutes before the end of a Christmas late kick off when we're losing 2-0 has in anyway contributed to an atmoshpere that's been poor for months?
Because it’s the people that’ll be saying it’s the “new fans” making the atmosphere shit. When in reality the corner is a main cause of half the issues.

Also, fans love to bleat on about loyalty from players and managers but then half leave at the first sign of a loss at home in 7 months.

The atmosphere has being deteriorating for a while, it was actually a bit better on Monday.

And I think people aren't factoring in the kick off time and time of year enough when going on about people leaving.

I stayed to the end, but its easy for me when I'm less than half hour from home.

Doug is spot on with this. He's not on about the handful of fans who choose to leave early every most weeks for one reason or another, he's quite rightly calling out the embarrassing mass exodus as the second goal went in.

How refreshing it is to not just have an owner who clearly cares, but also regularly communicates with the fans.

These are the days we used to dream of. The least we can do is support the lads to the end and when the going gets tough.

We'll fight till the game is won!

Think King is spot on here. There's always excuses, and while there will always be the occasional 'genuine' case for most part its exactly that, an excuse.

The team deserve all the support we can give them, as frustrating as it can be when we have a bad game.

I get that some people believe they should get more if their ticket is resold but having 3,000 empty seats is piss poor when the game was sold out. People literally can't be arsed to click a button which will give someone else the chance to attend. We normally get the 'I sell / give it to a mate' line but that's clearly not true for the number of tickets being scanned into the ground.

There's gaps every week in the family stand, which is supposed to be sold out and has the exchange active for every game, despite people moaning that the area was too small when tickets first went on sale. And if you check online there's only ever a handful up for resale.

To be honest people staying in the bar is worse in my book.
It was 0-0 at HT and we were right in the game and people stay in the concourse drinking piss, but everyone's entitled to do as they please

The one thing I’ll say on this - and I think I raised it with @Sky Blue Pete previously - there’s no real way of knowing when the teams have come back out. I’ve had it before where I walk back to my seat and it’s 2-3 minutes into the 2nd half. Would be good if they could stick something over speakers in the concourse (assuming there are some?) even if it’s just the “please welcome back Coventry City” bit.
