Was going to draw on my Scottish roots and expand on that slightly, a sleekit wee c**t!
I understand hating him not sure he was a c**t though. Think he did promise stuff and then change his mind in discussions with ccfc and certainly him and Joy couldn’t stand one another for some reason

Some of the comments in the programme about things being different if Joy had got involved earlier were interesting.
Would have liked to hear them expanded on as I'm not sure what difference people thought it would make.

One things for sure there's no situation in life that can't be made worse by introducing Tim Fisher into the equation.

What was his crime?

He was always a real gentlemen genial Irish guy. Wife was really lovely
I've heard this from others too so I can honestly believe that he might possibly be the most affable person to seemingly refuse Coventry City FC permission to play football in Coventry.

Didn't some parties say he was also the one who vetoed the deal to save Wasps Rugby leading to the end of their club?

Perversely I think it could be viewed that we owe him a debt of gratitude as without his involvement the extended lease might not have been created and made available to ultimately be owned along with the football club.

Guess we'll never know but I wonder whether the cycle of short term rental deals between ACL (Council / Higgs Trust) and the football club along with the ongoing decline on the pitch have otherwise continued to this day.

Some of his henchmen were wankers though. Nick Eastwood especially. When was trying to get them to talk I got agreement that if I could get Joy to talk to Derek he would get Derek to talk to Joy. I fulfilled my side and he then said that’s not how it works. Stupid idiot

God, this thread has bought back some horrible memories. Who can forget balloongate. Sisu were utter cunts, but the council had a hand in nearly destroying a club that beared the city's name for well over a hundred years. Unforgivable really.

Cain was useless and has been equally useless at Warwickshire. Not surprising that they've taken a drastic downward turn since he took over, not to mention an obsession with selling off things to external investors and concentrating on property development over the cricket team.

Amazing how these people fail upwards. Not surprising that English domestic cricket is in a mess when the likes of Cain and Gidney are in charge at two of the biggest sides / grounds.

They certainly did and when we met with George duggins and Martin reeves they absolutely defended their position
Was utterly bizarre
We were saying having a successful ccfc team would be worth millions. I’m sure Joy was as much at fault but Joy and Martin didn’t meet for a decade - madness
They should have been right at the forefront of a solution and they just didn’t care it was bizarre
Mark on here was on that particular call so will remember it I’m sure

One of the councillors told me that every time someone from the council met Joy they suddenly become massively sympathetic to her cause.
He said she invited him to meet her, but he politely declined as he was happily married :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

In short Doug is and will be one of the most important stakeholders in our entire history - what a man 🙌

Wasps going bust was certainly in the top 5 most important moments in the clubs history.

I will always remember sosunmore fondly than the council and wasps. Don't give a fuck

It all had to happen the way it did. Everything has worked out like a fairytale. Sisu were a necessary evil almost. They fought the bigger evil of council for us. Good guys wouldnt have got the job done.

They broke up an unsustainable rent deal, which in a roundabout way has helped to get us in the situation we're in now. However that took us to Northampton, Brum, Burton etc. Fuck them all tbh.
