How stupid of us to want one of the best players in the division (if he can get into shape and fit) who has proven to get G+A in the prem, if we can get him cheap? How stupid indeed
The comb-over to end all comb-overs.Ralph Coates?
I'm not for Hamer coming back but not against the idea either. It would totally depend on which Hamer you get. The one like with us where he was shaped into a very good player, or there's the one constantly played out of position and isn't happy. Our fans get so stuck in the past when it comes to ex-players and wanting them to come back. Undoubtedly next year when we’re in the Prem we’ll spend all summer clamouring for Callum
Wilson.
He’s always been knackered at 70 minutes and it has been our/ sufc downfall. But now we seem to have a more professional approach to the whole game and we also have good players to come on, it may be less of a problem.I always found that he worked hard .. he seems to be less of a player at SU than he was here generally
unfortunately, i think you are right.Guy is going to be 29 and has peaked in my opinion. He’s not looked after himself. He’s not the future of the club. We need to be looking at top upcoming talent that we can give playing time to and have huge re-sale value. The model we’ve adopted needs to continue but with higher calibre if we’re in the Prem.
It's been so long (George McCray)Our fans get so stuck in the past when it comes to ex-players and wanting them to come back. Undoubtedly next year when we’re in the Prem we’ll spend all summer clamouring for Callum

I tend to agree. Hamer career is in decline. There maybe a relegation threatened PL team who might bid with the view he would be a 15-20 minute end of game substitute. If he really is one of the best there will be a queues around Sheffield’s ground to buy him
This won’t be a bidding war - it’s a New Years Day sale and still there will be no takers
I just don’t see Lampard getting on with a player with such a casual approach to training and looking after himself.I tend to agree. Hamer career is in decline. There maybe a relegation threatened PL team who might bid with the view he would be a 15-20 minute end of game substitute.
As for us....do we have time to get him fit enough to integrate into our team before the end of the season?
Think its a comfort thing. You know what you are getting. Although in the case of Gus we'd be getting an older, fatter version. There seems to be a bit of an obsession with going back for former players.
It's not just us, I've heard supporters of other clubs saying the same.
Got to go some to beat a former Derby/Spurs player whose name escapes me!🫣
Sounds like Dave Mackay
