It's not going to happen. It's pretty obvious why PL teams haven't come in for him.
Its expected he will leave sheffield united at the end of the season , Everton and leeds both have interest but we dont know what sheffield united were asking for .

Now their season hasnt gone to plan and they wont bounce back .. they will probably have to sell cheaper

Got to go some to beat a former Derby/Spurs player whose name escapes me!🫣

Yes but preparing for relegation in one case, I actually think they may trying to offload him now?

Surely he'd have gone the summer they went down or last summer?

We know Hamer still loves the club. However I don’t really know on this one. Do I think with our team behind him including our fitness team, could he come back to his best absolutely.

But there’s a few ifs there and I doubt they would sell for anything below £10 million here. Is that worth it considering the time he’ll need to get back to his best assuming he can get back his best form from his premiership year?

Possibly

Theres plenty of articles linking him to everton and leeds , but i saw a fee of 20 million that SU expected
It wasn't £16M was it. Sorry for confusion it was an earlier post who claimed that is what we got £12 m was the common belief?

Maybe city could get him for much less end of season , even as a squad player if we go up
If they still owe us money then sure, but if he doesn’t have the work ethic Lampard expects from his players he wouldn’t be worth the money.

Its all very exciting anyway .. i wonder what kind of player we have penned down should we get promoted .

Loved Hamer when he was here, wouldn’t go back for him though in all honesty. Think we need to move on & look forward not over our shoulder at what’s been/gone.

I’ve got no doubt there’s plenty of players with similar or better abilities in potential that being in the Prem would open the door too.

Yea i trust what the club do either way , lampard will have an idea who is good enough

I always found that he worked hard .. he seems to be less of a player at SU than he was here generally
It’s just his casual attitude to training which plenty of other players have commented on, going out on the piss etc…if he’s willing to suddenly drop all that then sure.

If he can’t spot a talented midfielder with abilities or help improve them we’ve got no hope!

I’m relaxed about the type of players we could bring in at current & in future windows - we’ve actually got things on our side. Sitting pretty at top, Lampard ex player status & potential pulling power & we’ve played some top football.

If there’s a toss up between Cov & another team in league you’d think we’d be in better position - unless it’s down to cash & if a player jumps for that probably blessing in disguise.

He clearly wouldn't have the discipline for it.
He would certainly have been scouted by top flight clubs in years gone by, the only one who went in for him was one of the worst in PL history desperate for a CM. He has the ability, he doesn’t have the attitude.

Imagine what a full preseason with Chris Jones and Dr Claire could do for him… (kill him, probably)

He is clearly not happy there. Wilder has always played him out of position too.
Any midfielder in this league worth their salt would walk to us to play under Lampard in the hope if improving as a player.
I think Gus would get his mojo back coming here under Frank.
Definitely wishful thinking on my part.

For us he was at his best playing as an 8 in the 532 with Sheaf holding, at Sheff Utd he’s played mostly LM, and AM so out of position. If he could get into shape, what an option to rotate with Torp and Rudoni

Zero chance of this, especially as DK was less than enamoured with his behaviour through that summer he left

we’ve moved on and so has he now.

Guy is going to be 29 and has peaked in my opinion. He’s not looked after himself. He’s not the future of the club. We need to be looking at top upcoming talent that we can give playing time to and have huge re-sale value. The model we’ve adopted needs to continue but with higher calibre if we’re in the Prem.

There's zero chance of Doug spending big money on a transfer fee, plus breaking our pay scales, just to bring in a little fat fucker who's only going to rotate with Torp and Rudoni!

The very suggestion of Hamer comming back says more about the stupidity of some of our fans than anything else.

Our fans get so stuck in the past when it comes to ex-players and wanting them to come back. Undoubtedly next year when we’re in the Prem we’ll spend all summer clamouring for Callum
Wilson.
Unlike the professional scouts and analysts, our horizons are much more narrow. For example, I don’t watch much football outside of Cov, England and Super Sunday.

Hamer was a great player for us, but he’s moved on and we have as well. There’s a reason all the Prem teams didn’t sign him when Sheff U went down and he won POTS last campaign.

Think there's a difference between work rate and discipline.
Don't think his work rate can be questioned but his discipline away from the training ground can.

Even if he came here and took a more professional approach starting to do the right thing in your late twenties can be leaving it to late, (Keiron Dyer for example), though for others, it can enhance and extend your career, (half the Arsenal squad under Wenger!)
