Pretty tearful listening to that remembering many long phone conversations with many of the key players

Doug talks so well and is such a great leader and decision maker
Gives out praise to all those around him and identifies the skills needed that he doesn’t have
Totally won me over

Fearful of the lack of a board and how much is down to one person but interested how he’ll sort rather than scared he won’t

Hey guys, this show was on last night at 6PM. Managed to clip it and can share it without having to use the BBC Sounds stuff.

Here it is.

Why wouldn’t you just use BBC Sounds?

Key things
1 Doug admits Robins and Boddy saved the club and he would not have bought in if we weren’t at that level
2 He said we would give it a go in the premier league but he would need help ( investment ) as he couldn’t do it alone
3 said he is warming the council up on infrastructure due to the massive benefits it would bring to the city

Do we own the CBS lock stock and barrel or have CCC still got the FREEHOLD?

It’s a 239 year lease or something. Was 250 when Wasps extended in 2014 not sure if it’s been extended again. In reality the only difference would be if we tried to knock it down and build some houses or whatever they’d probably be able to stop us under the terms of the lease. Otherwise it’s effectively ours, it’s not like we have to ask if we want to build or whatever.

Point 2 for me reinforces my belief that king isn’t going to be here for long,

it’s get in get out with as much money as he can - can’t fault him, he doesn’t have the capital to maintain a prem side. So why stick around for the stress

I could see him maintaining a presence. He’s clearly enjoying being in football

He’s enjoying it because it’s all going swimmingly.

Regardless of being realistic or not, there’s gonna be a section of fans who will be raging and booing if we’re bottom next season and not winning every other week

he wasn’t keen on the flack over the robins sacking.

I thought he took the flak like a man to be honest.
He held that fans forum when he could’ve just hid away

Don’t get me wrong I agree with you, one thing king deserves credit for - he fronts up to his decisions

But at times he did get touchy. I think he’s great. He’s the final piece of the puzzle. But I think he’s a smart man, he didn’t come from football - he’s in it to make money. The club is worth double maybe triple what it was worth when he took over. If he goes to the premier league it’s a whole different ball game. There can’t be many non billionaire owners left at that level

Think anyone who understands the impact of football, particularly having in a Premier League club in our city, makes the actions of Coventry Council over the years really reprehensible. Even taking into account SISU's stances, the Wasps debacle should not be forgotten. This from people who claimed to be City fans. I am taking individuals, not party political policies.
Sure they will take all the plaudits if we get to the Prem and can stay there.

He absolutely did and he hasn’t rubbed people’s noses in it
Haven’t listened to it yet but saw a clip of Lorna Bailey interviewing him so I assume it’s her and/or Gurney who has put it together?
Could have easily turned his nose up at it after the way they marched into the press room with their pitchforks after the Robins dismissal.
