What a complete and utter waste of time. All its done is increase their popularity yet again. They played to a huge crowd heading a festival last weekend and have announced a massive tour that by all accounts is selling far better than anyone predicted.

Similarly Bob Vylan's streaming numbers are through the roof and they're booking some of the largest shows they've ever headlined.
Wonder if people will ever grasp the Streisand effect.

Kneecap have gone from playing to next to no-one to arena shows, headlining festivals and have now announced they're heading a huge outdoor show in Crystal Palace Park next summer.

Some irony in the location there.

Iceland, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and Slovenia will boycott the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest due to Israels inclusion.👏

I'm sure the absolute stitch up of not even having a vote on their inclusion has nothing to do with the contests main sponsor
Who might that be? TBH I blank this poxy competition as much as possible.

Maybe they could cancel this one and reschedule it to next year summer and combine it with the World cup every game at half time they can run over a couple of weeks then and really stretch it out, that should work and FIFA can pay for it!

It's a singing contest. Always been political scoring anyway so what difference does it make if Israel sing? I'm sure most of those agreeing with the decision to boycott would normally be the first to tell us not all people from a country are the same or not all Muslims etc.

Also, a bit of an empty gesture to quit anyway as it achieves nothing.

It's embarrasing.

Then again, so is the whole competition.

If it's pointless then why did countries exclude Russia?

This is the thing isn't it. You can't now play the 'its not political' card when Russia was kicked out the second they invaded Ukraine.

Same problem that's emerging with the World Cup. Hold it in Quatar and it's all 'have to respect local customs', now it's in the US we've got countries such as Egypt and Iran making demands over what they deem acceptable at games.

It's about the impact that cultural boycotts have on the population of countries doing inhumane things. The best example of the pressure it applies is probably South Africa.

As long as the Israeli state is involved in the violent oppression of the Palestinians, their country has to be treated as a pariah state. It will hurt Israel, because it wants to be considered a respectable, liberal, tolerant, democracy, as indeed did South Africa.

Being excluded from sporting, cultural, and academic events shows at least some of the population what the rest of the world thinks about their government's actions.

Those lovely friendly cuddly lads over at Maccabi at it again.

Poor guys are just so misunderstood!

Remember when everyone lost their shit and said the ban on travelling to Villa was anti semitic. No, they're just cunts.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv, whose supporters were controversially excluded from a match at Aston Villa last month, have been given a suspended one-match away fan ban by UEFA for racist chanting.

European football's governing body confirmed its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) had fined the Israeli club €20,000 ($23,470) in relation to their fans' conduct at a Europa League tie away to German side Stuttgart on Dec. 11.

The CEDB also imposed a ban on Maccabi selling tickets to their fans for their next UEFA competition match away from home, suspended for a probationary period of two years.

The Press Association understands the sanction related to anti-Arab chanting by Maccabi fans

Interesting silence in response to this
