Its a difficult window because really the players you bring in have to have the potential to play at a higher level or why sign them ?

I imagine loans will be the main focus

This should be 1000% the plan but Doug hates loans.

Alternatively, you go for someone like Hughes who would make the step up.

He's miles better than Kitch and Thomas.

If we were to get promoted, Hughes would make the step up. The other two wouldn't imo.
He’s in another league to them too, like I said if we don’t pay what they want then a prem team will. People cry on here though even though it’s not money out of pocket

Well hughes is still a gamble at premier league level .

Personally if we were to be promoted we need to try sign experience at european level , a fringe player from a big club or something of that mould

Mate hughes is a much better defender than Thomas, wins everything in the air and can actually pass the ball to someone in his shirt, Bobby is great when it comes to goals for us but he’s shakey, hughes will be playing for England at some point, can’t see Bobby though. Just pay what they want for him, or a prem club will and we’ll be massively regretting it
No, honestly, I get all of this. But we spent (wasted) an entire summer chasing him for him to still be a Hull player at the end of it. I dont want to waste the whole of Jan chasing him only to miss other possibilities. If we can get him, great, but I dont want to risk losing other players to other clubs hanging on for a player that doesnt want to come. Put.in a serious offer from day one. If Hull and/or Hughes are still dragging heels or umming and arring by days 8 and 9, move on! We cant afford to tread water!

It's widely thought that Hughes will be going to a PL side in the summer anyway. A gamble but a potentially brilliant one.

It's not a case of what you expect, it's about what you should get with how the game pans out.

There should be no argument from anyone that we didn't throw two points away there. It's ok to be extremely frustrated by that even if on paper an away point isn't terrible.

Others may disagree, but I thought that second half performance was exceptionally poor.
I get the frustration, but what I don't get is the "we've blown it" attitude.

How we played is now irrelevant. What is relevant is the points on the board

Losing at Ipswich, and drawing at Preston does not dent our promotion chances. They are not games we should have expected to win

Thomas and Kitch are a good pairing. We really don’t need to be spending stupid money on a CB. A winger and a CM for me are all we need. If im being greedy an out and out first choice LB as well

Mate he’ll want to come here 100%, we got quoted a fair price and our owner bottled it, 13 million with add ones will have got it done 100%

Theyre OK. I can see one of the 2 alongside a better CH making the step up. I had hoped that Woolfy was going to be that CH but he's looked poor in the few cameos weve seen of him. But the 2 together in the PL we'll be on a hiding to nothing. Both far too slow, both got too short fuses and get sucked in to silly fouls. BT passing is average at best. I can see Kitch making the step up (hopefully with us) and playing regularly alongside someone better than BT. Could that be Hughes? Maybe, hopefully. But the rate they make errors and we leak goals, I wouldn't say our CH pairing is good. For a team.that has as much possession as we do, and has possession so high as we do, we really shouldn't be conceding as many as we do.

Hughes and kitching would be quality, best cb pairing in the league

22 in 20, it’s really not that bad. And after today where it’s Rudoni/Dasilva getting caught from the throw and Haji not picking up his man, I don’t get it

Hughes whose side have conceded 34. I’m not saying he’s not a good player, I thought he was brilliant against us on the first day, but I’m not sure I’d be spending 15m on him ahead of bringing in a CM and Winger

Erm the winger from Sweden then maybe a cm on loan? We need a new cb as we’re leaking too many goals

I also think we missed 2 tricks in Tanganga and Sam McCallum. Personally think McCallum is better than JDS, but the thought of having both, rather than the thought of Brau and Bidwell. Also, Tanganga, when he's been played in position rather than at RB as he has regularly, has looked really good. The few blades games ive watched and he's single handedly kept the score line a lot lower than it couldve been.

Bobby/Kitch is about as good as it gets at this level as a centre half pairing. If you watch us every week and think the answer is £12m+ on Charlie Hughes and not an additional winger/10 then I’m not sure what to say.

conceded 22 in 20, we play a very attacking system that leaves us open to be countered but over the whole of the season has worked excellently.

The goal today is dreadful from Rudi/JDS for letting him walk into the box but from there it’s a lucky toe poke that’s flown into the bins. Shit is gonna happen this years lads. Ipswich took 1 point from Oxford/Blackburn like a week and a half ago.

Plainly we haven't blown it, but I don't want to see complacency like that again.
