And to those fans who said we've not played any good teams yet, well we have now. 😎

Firstly. Boro are a good team. Best I’ve seen against us this season. If their new manager is any good they ll be going up.
We dug in, withheld relentless pressure, but always looked deadly going forward. The best ‘Team’ performance I’ve seen as a Cov fan. Bobby Thomas scores an OG, and was looking under-par before then. From then on in he defended like a man mountain and made the 3rd goal.
Simms - The next player to be revitalised under Lampard. Strong, quick, and that 1st goal was world class. Haji is not first choice now.

Needs to learn to not talk over the commentator so much and he's not good on the old heart rate.

He's not bad but he's no Oggy.
This. Hard to make out what either are saying if they're both yapping at the same time. Oggy knows when the pauses are coming and adds his twopenn'orth then, or waits until Rob asks for it.
A great shame Clive isn't still with us in such an extraordinary season.

I feel a bit like teams that win the league go through phases,

1. Start the run and surprise teams
2. Embed a winning routine
3. Become a team to beat
4. Get carried along by their own aura
5. Champions

We're getting into 3
Winning is a habit too, anyone who’s played any sport at any level will understand this. Last season, I don’t think we beat WBA and Boro in the circumstances we did.

The only teams that won’t fear us will be Ipswich and Southampton. The rest of them will be more scared of us than the other way round. WBA don’t want anything to do with us at 2-2, the game was only going one way.

Whilst we were poor, we only gave up 1 big chance which Conway missed. That was the momentum shifter. Aside from that, nothing of note was created because we defended very well.

Boro had lots of possession but they did not produce anywhere near what we did. We had 20 shots, 8 on target compared to their 11 shots, 2 on target.

MVE caused us a lot of issues out on the right but Kitching especially was largely solid in the air. MVE also nearly performed a horror back pass. Thomas was OK apart from the OG and a couple of crap passes. A lot of snatched clearances though from everyone which lead to Boro recycling the ball and pressing us back as well.

Dasilva was also caught a few times in similar fashion to West Brom but he was the better of the two full backs before the system change.

We're getting an awful lot of difficult away games out of the way before the main run in (say matchday 30/31) too. Then your Southamptons, Boros, Stokes and so on all have to come here and get something.

In return, I'd say Bristol City and Hull are tough places we still have to travel to later in the season, but that's it.

I think both Ipswich and Southampton both will (and should) fear us.

All those things were true, but nothing materialised into a meaningful chance. We ended the game with a lot more shots and xG which tells you we had our own moments and deserved to win the game.

The own goal was an unforced error so it was gift that they drew level.

Boro were the only other unbeaten team at home going into this one. This was always going to be a tough fixture and even at 2-0, felt we needed a 3rd to see the game through.

Holy fucking hell, what a performance.

We were under the cosh? Yes. Did we initially blow a 2-0 lead? Yes. Did we give up? No. Did we seize the swing in momentum at the end? Fuck yes.

I couldn't possibly be happier for Ellis Simms. He has taken the lumps he's been given this year like a fucking pro, knuckled down, bided his time and now taken his chance and then some. He is back to his best at the time this club needed him the most. No strops, no complaining, just pure class and elite professionalism. What a goddamned sensational performance from him today.

Liam Kitching of all people popping up with a brace reinforces to me that every member of this XI is playing at a high level and we can ultimately count on everyone to come through.

What a time to be a Cov fan

Brilliant post, sums it up perfectly for me.

Absolutely bang on. Playing well can be defending well. We didn't control the game but we were brilliant going fwd and could've scored more especially in the first half.
