tbh while I know everything has to be binary these days and 'pick a side' I don't really understand why its so hard to just accept that several things can be true at once.

Its perfectly possible to believe that Al-Shamie is a complete and utter scumbag who thoroughly deserved to be shot while also thinking genocide is wrong. They aren't opposing views, or at least they shouldn't be.

Its perfectly possible to believe that protests are a valid form of expression while also thinking attacking the police is wrong.

We don't apply the same logic to football. In fact many football supporters take great offence if they're branded a hooligan or coke-head just because some people who support the same club act that way. Why can't people apply similar perspective to other situations?

Making everything a divisive issue for point scoring needs to stop or things will never change.

Other than unite the kingdom where everyone spent days out with rulers and arguing over the numbers, but absolutely decided whether it was 110k, 500k or 3m that they were all 100% far right racists. And that's on here too which is normally at least a little more balanced than X.

Sir Keir Starmer praised emergency services as “exemplary” during a visit to Greater Manchester Police’s headquarters.

Maybe you should have waited for the facts Kier?

What happened with the other people questioned? Wonder what role they played. Far right, far left influences? Both have a strong dislike of Jews

He was hardly going to condemn them for accidentally shooting someone dead. The police arrived and killed the attacker within seven minutes of the 999 call - there will no doubt be a huge investigation into what happened, but whatever the outcome they deserved the credit yesterday for stopping this maniac from killing more people.

I heard earlier on R4 that one of the dead was actually shot by the police when they opened up.

Im always very nervous when im around armed police. In an airport or round the tower and suchlike when you see them. Always makes me feel on edge. And its not the weapons that make me feel on edge, its the muppet thats holding them that does.

Having joined the army at 16 and spent 7 years in the infantry, ive spent more than my fair share of time around all kinds of weapons. But I know how fully trained and disciplined I was and the same went for every person I stood alongside! Yet I look at the old bill in an airport, with his pocket undone, 1 bootlace undone, and generally looking scruffy, holding a weapon, I can't help but question their training and discipline. If the bloke can't fucking dress himself properly, what chance do we have of him having the safety catch on? What is he going to be like under pressure if he needs to use his weapon? Will he flap? Will his head go? And with it his composure?

Like I say, its not the weapon that unnerves me, its the tool carrying it! I was the same when I went clay pigeon shooting a few times! All these morons with loaded shotguns. Slinging them over their shoulder or under their armpit, not pointed down the range! I had to stop going

His occupation was "full time father" and had other convictions.
His Dad supported hamas.

Sound like lovely blokes. Looking forward to how some on here can spin it so they are victims and everybody is racist.

'We fully distance ourselves from this attack': Suspect's family releases statementpublished at 11:23

11:23BREAKING

A statement has been released by the family of Jihad Al-Shamie, the man police believe is responsible for yesterday's attack.

His father Faraj Al-Shamie posts on Facebook:

"The news from Manchester regarding the terrorist attack targeting a Jewish synagogue has been a profound shock to us. The Al-Shamie family in the UK and abroad strongly condemns this heinous act, which targeted peaceful, innocent civilians.

"We fully distance ourselves from this attack and express our deep shock and sorrow over what has happened. Our hearts and thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we pray for their strength and comfort.

"We kindly request that all media outlets respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time and refrain from using this tragic event in any context that does not reflect the truth.

"May God have mercy on the innocent victims, and we pray for the swift recovery of the injured."

They never call it out do they?

There are suggestions daddy supported Hamas and it is confirmed the son was up on a rape charge

But surely anyone who expresses concern about the number of people entering the country must always be an extreme right wing racist thug right???

Who is saying that every Muslim is like it?

It's very fucking weird how some people have been. I'm not sure if it's an attempt to come across as politically correct but by doing that, it gets people into sticky situations. (Not good ones).

The bloke is called jihad, you're abusing people for mentioning it saying it's not his families fault.

I know you like to see the best in people but sometimes it's either naive or straight up mental with some of the stuff you try to defend or deflect.
