I assume such xG over performance takes a while to normalise as well in a player that doesn't usually have shots with a particularly high xGYes, he’s not going to be posting that kind of overperformance but you’d expect he will get at least a couple more free kicks and long-range goals throughout the season, which by their nature are low xG chances.
Keep it going , All you do to me is Talk Talk, Torp Torp!In 2025 in the championship
20 games
9 goals
3 assists
To paraphrase Mick McCarthy - “oh, he can”Obviously not gonna maintain that though is he
backed him from the start. intelligent posters could see the player in thereWhat a signing he’s turned into
Ditto he took a bit of time to settle but you could see the talent was there!backed him from the start. intelligent posters could see the player in there
It took people a little while to accept the Rudoni>O'Hare discussion before it became undeniable Rudoni was several levels clear. Torp is about to have a season that buries the best of Hamer. Wouldn't mind him back as a bench option when Blunts get relegated though.
Currently 66/1Going to be the Championship top goalscorer!
What odds can we get?
backed him from the start. intelligent posters could see the player in there
He obviously wont keep up the scoring rate hes at but if he manages 15 this year the vultures will be circling.Yeah, my lad and I were at Hillsborough when he made his debut and scored that wonderful goal. Always thought he was a special player, but he really is starting to get going now. Keep him fit and he could be one of the stand out players in the Championship.

I wasn’t sure he had the athleticism for the league, used to struggle to see through 90 mins, but he’s really come on.backed him from the start. intelligent posters could see the player in there

Yes I think hamer would be unreal under lampardJust very very different players. I think under Lampard Hamer would have got 20 a season just because of how his gets his CMs to play.
As it is he's pissing away another year playing Blunt ball and is probably at an age where he'll be on the way down soon. Meanwhile we have an ever improving Torp, Rudoni and Grimes bossing things. Happy days for us, not so much for him.Just very very different players. I think under Lampard Hamer would have got 20 a season just because of how his gets his CMs to play.
Brilliant player. Any of you ready for the Torp>Hamer discussion yet?
We had people on here trying to flog him off for the £2 million we bought him for in the summer. A lot of fans just have a really poor eye for a player tbh.And some wanted him replaced after the Hull game!
