Do you want to discuss boring politics? (34 Viewers)

The average man on the street isn't going to care about manufacturing in 2029 if (big IF) the economy/NHS/cost of living etc has improved.

They will if they work in it and are unemployed - Starmer is despised everywhere- he’s got nowhere to go

I've been to plenty of countries with ID cards and quite obviously absolutely none of them feel like 1975 East Germany.

I’ve been to Russia - they have them

Very weird how you mention my name all the time, creepy as fuck when you’re not even interacting. Is that how boring your life is mr Gif/apology man

I get it burns you up that I'm capable of being funny and you're not, and I feel you, but I'll worry about life being boring when I start playing a character(s) on the internet.

I have a feeling ID cards would be like things suck as ULEZ where it's really easy to paint them as the worst thing ever until they are implemented and people actually like them.

Same with 15 minute cities, people are actually shocked when it is explained to them all it means is you should have everything you need within 15 minutes noy you can't go more than 15 minutes from your house.

I likened it yesterday to the smoking ban. After a while it becomes the norm and everyone wonders why it wasn't done sooner.

Who was the one politician in this country who ever wanted this?

We are one of 8 countries in the entire world without ID cards.

Are all those other ~185 countries like 1975 East Germany?
It's not the same thing. It's potentially a licence to be permitted to do anything.

Start of a slippery slope, it will effect the next generations more so than the current one.

I won't be around to see what happens but it's likely to head that way, I'm not alone in that belief.

Drink Driving and Seat Belts are another.

Compared to those if you conducted a cost benefit analysis to this proposal would it compare favourably?

That is the point and why they said they were bringing it in. They haven't hidden the fact that the item is make it impossible to function in normal society without one.

You going to apologise for defending the fella who pretended they only said "fuck hamas"?

It seems also the notion right wing are the opposition

Lib Dem’s have today opposed it
Greens oppose it
Ironically Badenoch originally didn’t but now does
Liberty opposes it
SNP oppose it

Yet polling shows the public don't, so go figure.

Just seen what he posted. It's beyond grim, but I don't see how you make a case that it's inciting anyone to do anything. If that's the basis for the arrest, that's a stretch and probs. a waste of time.

You could probably make an argument that it's hate speech so I don't think it'd be mad if you got your profile suspended for it and I reckon the world would be a better place if people didn't post stuff like that.

What's the idea that this is on the government btw? Is there something they brought in since the election that means the outcome would've been different under the last lot? or is it just the Kier Stalin meme?

The thing that gets peoples goat more than this, is if you have just been burgled, or had your car nicked, or been mugged at knifepoint, where are the old bill? Nowhere to be fucking seen, yet some inflammatory tweets and its arrest

Countries absolutely on its fucking arse

What are you so frustrated about and what were you expecting?

then what on earth do you think reform offer!!! Wow

The fact I work my arse off all week and have fuck all to show for it?

The fact im having my pants pulled down everytime I fill my car up?

The fact that im paying more for gas and electric every year for no reason?

The fact when I had an SVT episode of 200BPM out of nowhere I was told there was no ambulances?

The fact that the £800 a month tax i pay is going towards housing undocumented men we know nothing about to be put up in luxury hotels?

The fact that if I need a doctor I cant get one?

The fact that my weekly shop price is ballooning month on month for the same product?

The fact that if I need a copper because ive been mugged or burgled I cant get one but there will be one there if I post an inflammatory tweet?

The fact that the justice system is in absolute disarray?

I could go on if you like?

That's all fair comment, but there is no way Reform fixes any of that. They are not serious people, they do not have any serious policies, and Nige is the biggest conman around.

So basically, the choice is to vote for a party that has no serious policies (in your opinion) or..... vote for a party who has serious policies (in your opinion) who will just completely ignore all those policies and promises and do what the fuck they want anyway! And force us with digital ID to boot, in some weird way thinking that'll stop the boats coming!

Rock and a hard place where im sitting. And the way I see it, Labour and Conservatives have had long enough and fucked up enough to be given any more opportunities. They're both a guilty as one another for the mess we're currently in! Its time for a change, and of all the other options available, Reform are really the only plausible option. Even if that option is just to give the 2 main parties a wake up call and a huge kick up the arse to sort their shit out!

And backtracked on almost every single decision so far! In some cases, they've even backtracked on the backtrack! Theyre a laughing stock! No, correction, the country is a laughing stock to the rest of the world!

No, if you want to live in make believe world then crack on.

It takes longer than a year to sort out 14 years of austerity and managed decline.

But crack on.

Please don’t argue with @Sky Blue Pete he’s the class clown of this forum with some absurd opinions, he was crying at people being angry over the Southport killer having access to boiling water as it was his human right. There are many other things too….Best to just ignore them

Thing is how long can he keep saying it’s the tories fault, 3 years down the line when everything is worse will he still be blaming them then?

Worked for Cameron and it's actually true this time but you have no idea if things will be worse.
