Could be loud noise .. not spoke to anybody who seems to be in favour.. apart from on here .

The other thing is that more than ever I suspect people's trust in the government is at an all time low.

These clowns in charge continuously fail to read the room and seem to somehow find a way to piss absolutely everyone off.

There's actually almost some solidarity between the centrists, left, and right at the moment because of them. I quite like that, but it's batshit.

Only the polling shows that supporters of all parties and across all age groups back ID cards.

It's likely the "noise" is just vocal people on the internet and the majority support them or don't really care.

Can I just take a moment to saviour how we have gone in a day from "look at that mega poll, Labour are doomed and Farage will be PM" to "Nah, polls often aren't accurate and can very wrong" in less than 24 hours :)

I don't think it is at all.

I think the concept of them is acceptable, but the people implementing it are detested by the majority of the population.

I'm not that arsed about having one.

He's clearly just said "it will stop illegals" to try and just get people onside.

We all know that as soon as somebody rocks up on the beach they will be given their own.

I don't think it's been explained how it will work and how it will help with immigration etc.

Don’t need polls to know reform will win the next election and farage will be PM, it’s obvious. People need to accept it instead of trying to pretend it won’t happen

You'll have to or you won't have a job. If it's the law that your employer or bank has to check these things what are you going to do?

It does make me laugh.
I'm retired so I won't. This requires mass public refusal to comply & it's dead.

I think you'd have enjoyed East Germany circa 1975.

That's not what the polling says. We'll see if it moves at all but I suspect it won't.

Remember the internet is not the country.

How are you backing that up? You do need polling as that is a likely indicator and even then they can change quickly.

The only thing that matters is how people feel in 2029 and no one knows this and anyone who claims otherwise is frankly a fool.

Reform will finish ahead of your beloved labour at the next election, it’s obvious and doesn’t take a genius to work that one out.

Can you honestly see labour even lasting till 2029, you must me lying and deluding yourself if you think so

What evidence do you have? If the economy improves it becomes hardly to blame everything on "small boats".

As was famously said about the 1992 US elections "It's the economy".

As I said earlier Miliband was up 13 points in 2013 and still lost 2 years later. Reform have to have policies and if they are anything like their manifesto or the ones announced since then they become easy to paint as dangerous loonies.

Won Cameron the 2015 election.

Only a fool would call an election this far out.

No sitting prime minister has ever recovered from the negative ratings Starmer now has

And are they warranted Grendel?

Entirely. He’s a disaster and is destroying manufacturing - it’s on the floor and worse than I’ve seen it

How will Labour not last until 2029? They have a massive majority and will not call an election until they have to.

Why would labour call an election before they have to? No one else can really make them (yes the king can but he won't).

Dom, do you bosh amphetamines? Posting rate is off the chart rn. Hard to keep up with the content.

I think you are confusing him with the Bedworth Bufoon who seems to have self combusted - either that or he’s taking a years break to work out how to order a season ticket

The forum is so much better without the angry little man’s rants calling everyone racist for no reason, hopefully Nicholas banned him

We are one of 8 countries in the entire world without ID cards.

Are all those other ~185 countries like 1975 East Germany?

Most are islands aren’t they? And the US that would never allow it.

Europe mostly introduced it when they pulled the borders down post 92

The average man on the street isn't going to care about manufacturing in 2029 if (big IF) the economy/NHS/cost of living etc has improved.

We shall see, do you think labour are doing a good job so far? It’s a genuine question too, not a trolling or thing to wind you up question

I've been to plenty of countries with ID cards and quite obviously absolutely none of them feel like 1975 East Germany.

I have a feeling ID cards would be like things suck as ULEZ where it's really easy to paint them as the worst thing ever until they are implemented and people actually like them.

Same with 15 minute cities, people are actually shocked when it is explained to them all it means is you should have everything you need within 15 minutes noy you can't go more than 15 minutes from your house.
