The country felt obligated after getting involved in HK and Boris's charge of the light brigade venture so two of those years were skewed, but yeah the difficulty of melding people together is an issue, it's obviously someone's decision, wonder if the place this all gets planned in Davos every January?

That’s not really true. Boris won the 2019 GE by a massive landslide and therefore a massive mandate. Part of their manifesto was to change immigration requirements post Brexit to what let in so many people in. Side stepping all that people didn’t know what they voted argument I think the truth is Boris and his advisers didn’t have a clue what they were doing and what their policies actually meant in real terms. Just think how much worse those figures from 2020 onwards would have been had Covid not landed curbing mobility. It should be a lesson on trusting politicians, especially those with word salad slogans offering dumbed down solutions to complicated problems.
I call bullshit. This is what they said. Some quotes from their manifesto.

"A future, where national, border, energy and food security are put first, not taken for granted, and immigration is never allowed to run out of control.

The alternative is we go back to square one. To a fragile economy under Labour driven by unfunded spending, higher taxes on working families and debt piling up for future generations to pay of. And where immigration, crime and defence are not taken seriously.

On 4 July, choose lower immigration, lower taxes and protected pensions. Choose a secure future with the Conservatives."

Thought I'd give Polanski's podcast a go as I don't know much about him or what he stands for.

Only halfway through the first episode but its with a former Tommy Robinson supporter. Some pretty interesting stuff in there about how you tackle the issue and the danger of branding everyone racist or far right.

Its only 45 minutes long so worth a listen if you want to hear more than each side blaming the other.

I find it hard to keep track these days. Seems like only a couple of weeks ago we were being told that flying flags anywhere and everywhere was a great thing and anyone who took a flag down was a disgrace.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but there shouldn't be any other countries flag flying in England other than the union jack or St George flag. It's disrespectful in my opinion.

Probably had this debate on here before, but you wouldn't see an English flag in Pakistan would you. Just saying

Thing is if it was a US one or Israel one I'd stand in solidarity, but not an islam one.

Lol 🤣
Your hearing must be off then. As I'm far from triggered. But good try thou.

It's just my opinion including that of an Israel flag. Should Just have our flag or the UK.

This is X. Probably isn't even true. Can we all at least wait to see if this is legit or not, or someone just trying to cause trouble, before we make conclusions.

It would of course be very provocative of someone raised another country:s flag above ours and no good would come of that, so I sincerely hope it's not true

If true (big if) I can’t help but think the subtext is exactly the same albeit from the opposite end of the spectrum. If they were pulled down it would be ‘proof’ that racism is rife and start off something bigger.

Well let's hope it's more than a big if.

Be a really stupid thing to do and would probably just cause riots on the streets

A stupid thing to do to raise another country's flag deliberately over the England flag.

Ah sorry, misunderstood your post.

I reckon just let them keep adding to the lamposts and see who can end up higher until there's a 50m lampost made from scaffolding.

I'm in if we can have someone firing paintballs at them while they do it, like a less lethal version of this...
