Some of the best attacking football weve played for years (10 Viewers)

I think we have to accept that is partly a result of how we set up. We do ask a lot of the central defenders when we get caught in transition.
Yes. As you say, partly true. But on the most part, it’s a defensive “unit”issue, as much as it is a defensive personnel issue.

Sounds overly simple and cliched really but it’s a concentration challenge when we dominate in our final third for long periods. Concentration then brings better and more efficient decision making.
You could make a strong case that this is Thomas and Kitching’s biggest skillset weakness.

You would hope it’s one of Wolf’s strongest based on his pedigree and what we know about him.

We are in block 22, Haji was definitely kicked on the ankle/leg, probably not enough to go down but surely that is still a penalty. No idea why the idiot gave the free kick to Norwich although probably something Haji said.
Think as Haji fell down he handled the ball . Didn't look like a pen to me.

When a team like Norwich with good championship and premiership credibility go down like a sack of spuds every time there is a challenge when 1-0 tells me that we have come a very long way under FL

We look excellent going forward. The team is set up for that. Torp is exclusively forward thinking, as are Dasilva and Ewijk. We’ve got to take our chances because we will leak goals. It’s good to watch. If we had an outright poacher in there we might be better off.

Just watched Akex Craig's Vlog, who on earth were the twats who booed us off at HT? Such a disease in the game to boo simply because we were losing. We were so dominant in the first half and played lovely football at times.
Are you sure people were booing our players and not the ref?

Let's put it this way. If we'd scored 4 goals today would anyone argue that it wasn't deserved?
No, but the problem is we *didn't*! We dominated possession and had loads of shots, very few of which were on target, from which we scored once. Norwich defended much deeper than QPR or Derby and crowded us out. The tiki-taki passing in the box only works when the defence go AWOL like QPR's.
xG is irrelevant.

Until we turn that dominance into goals, we ain't getting out of this league!

cant disagree and its great to watch.

Only potential caveat is that we have had an incredibly kind fixture list and are yet to see us up against a team that will be challenging anywhere near the top, roll on Saturday!

Lovely to watch at times this season...I still think we'll go up.

As well as the silly mistakes at the back needing to be cut out, Thomas and Kitching need to stop picking up yellow cards. Thomas is already on 3 the season, Kitching 2. It makes them vunerable and open to red cards which I know is an obvious thing to say but they both need to be more careful.

He can be as bad as he wants as long as he keeps scoring at this rate. There was a moment in the first half I think when I long ball was coming towards him and he stopped and looked away and their player got the ball. Maybe he thought the ref had blown for an infringement .
Think he's come from an offside position.

Am I alone in not liking the playing with wingers part? The crosses lack quality.
There is often few attackers to get on the end of them unless they arrive in the box late.
We looked better on Saturday when we took off the wingers and played a front 3 with full backs doing the crosses.
Just my thoughts.

When we hear about us looking for wingers, I hope what they mean is we're looking for wide inside forwards.

We had loads of shots blocked, so assume only those that weren’t and got through to the keeper count.
The BTA chance was a pen, there’s a photo on another thread where Darling has both arms around him and is pulling him to the ground!
Fucking useless Gavin Ward missed it, surprise, surprise.

Found it, Nick’s picture on the match thread.

He can only give what he sees I didn't think that or the Wright one were pens myself.

He was 4 yards away from the Wright one looking straight at it, I’m in block 28 and I saw both from there. The ref’s job is only difficult if they make it so, if they’re not up to it, quit?

I was happy after the Hull game. We were rusty, but there was something about our play going forward which looked so good, that I hadn't seen from a City team before.
We then score 15 in our next 4 games.

Yes brilliant. Milan's crossing has be the best I've seen from him. We've seen it a few times over the years when we've been at full strength early in the season so let's hope the squad is deep enough when we get a few bumps and scrapes. We will need to see more from Ellis particularly I think if we are to keep going in the top 6.

Have to say this is some of the best attacking football ive seen in all my years watching Coventry , 1st game against hull it felt a bit samey as last season but since then I think weve been superb for the most part

We will win games by several goals on a few occasions this season .

Hopefully wolfy brings a bit of discipline and finesse to the back line and we start getting our reward for some superb performances
If only we had a lethal striker, cant moan though as we have the ground and it could of been a choice between the 2 who knows. Fingers crossed we are there or there abouts in January and can get a proper striker in.

Haji has 5 already and is joint top scorer in the league. He hit 19 two seasons ago from left wing and was 13 in 31 last season after injury. He'll be fine. I'd like some strength on the bench, Simms isn't the answer.

If Gary Barlow can relight Simms’ fire he certainly would be the answer. But aside from big G I don’t see who can.

We created multiple great chances, our play was working, just finishing letting us down. And it's very unlikely we miss chances at that rate all season.
