This bullshit we've heard all summer of "players were after take time to complete" will be blown out of the water today after we see loads of deals happen over one day.
Yea because it’s the last day and selling clubs now have time pressure

Setting my expectations low. One reserve CB and that’s it. Think it’s too late to get anything of note done and Doug negotiates like fucks, nothing speedy.

Yes it’s frustrating reading multiple bids rejected etc.

Let’s see what’s state of play at 7pm.

but we have to remember it’s just not that easy, calibre of player we are now after, teams don’t want to sell, are waiting on replacing them, agents moving goal posts etc, again yes it’s frustrating at times, but it’s a process, not a quick super market sweep.

Interesting day ahead.
We're seen as a richer club now (although we aren't) so no favours!

Also we're not very competitive on the wages front so we have to work hard on persuading players to come

A reserve CB that will go into the first 11?

Deadline day is a pantomime. Clubs buy into it to keep fan interest high, that's what keeps us spending money. Whether or not deals are actually done on the last day is pretty much irrelevant.

Personally I'm expecting at least 2 in today, with Sheaf and Bassette going out. Still think it's possible MVE and/or Thomas could make a late move too. Suspect that Andrews/Obikwu/Perry getting loan moves hinges on whether we bring in first team ready reinforcements or not.

Mad how our whole season could hinge on what happens today isnt it?

Anyway, T-minus 11 hours.......

absolutely agree. You reckon Woolfenden is done? And hopefully sheaf out and a replacement and I’m happy tbh.

Woolfenden and a new dynamic CM makes us a lot better.

Oh and basette out on loan obviously. maybe a few more out on loan? Andrews and Obikwu have no place here. Currently

Do an EMC style deal for that young CB. If he's as good as what we think he is, than it'll be worth it to get the deal over the line.

I am confident that Frank is singing from the same sheet as most of us. Another RB in, another LB in, better GK in, Collins out, Bassette out on loan / sold, Binks out, Sheaf going so a new club captain imminent. I am convinced a CB upgrade (maybe 2) and and a new forward is on the way today

Good thing about working from home is i can watch TDD and get progressively more angry throughout the day without the worry of having to pretend to smile

much easier to keep your first team together when there’s no actual bids for them
Ok you could argue that (although I think it's very unlikely), but think about how that situation arises. Either no one bids for our players because they are all shite or we have become the kind of club that controls when players come and go on our own terms. So which do you think it is.

After years and years of being a club that couldn't keep hold of anyone, losing our better players to anyone who could offer them an extra 50p a week we have turned a corner.
