Maybe Benfica will take a look at Jamie Allen.
Dead funny.

Give yourself a biscuit.

Ellis Simms is a player who has proven that he can do the business and has come through the top youth environs of Man City, Everton and England under - whatever’s.

Jamie Allen is none of those things.

Simms needs a run of games to get his mojo back.

They could take Lati too. Has the same pedigree

So you suggest sending a failing Championship striker to the Champions of Portugal?

I'm sure they'd be well up for it mate, i see no issue, good plan on reflection.

I dont need any reason, his performances have given anyone with more than 2 brain cells the conclusion that he ain't good enough.

Maybe that's why hes not playing??? 🤔
He is playing, he has played 2 games and won the Luton game.. perhaps use those 2 brain cells, before replying.

Is this like when the council sent people on here as damage control? Has Ellis Simms got an army of paid internet defenders on his books?
I am convinced some of his family members are on here. Never seen a player be defended so ferociously by a small number of people.

I've seen much better players than Ellis Simms get stick on here and the reactions haven't half of whatever the hell this is.

12 months ago 19 goal Ellis Simms who had terrorised Man U and Wolves was getting paper talk of a Prem move.

Was Lati? Was Jamie Allen? Are you 12?

I’ll say again for the hard of thinking:

Ellis Simms is a proven quality player who needs to get his confidence back, or we write off millions.

Now, lanyard wearers out there - get in the real world.

Give me a better solution or make sarky, boring, (yet telling and amusing for me) posts…

Go…..

Do you think Ellis Sims is Champions league ready?

I’d love Simms to prove all his doubters wrong but he can’t live off the back of a purple patch two seasons ago.

Last season, I remember commenting that perhaps he was useful up front creating space for the likes of Rudi, Torp and EMC, Saka etc to get goals. But in reflection, it looked more like we were carrying a passenger. That’s good for nobody, especially the player himself.

I’m sorry but saying that his goals got us in the playoffs is a stretch too far. Someone in better form would have done better. As far as I can see, only his goals v Sheff Wed, Watford and Luton were crucial. That was worth 6 points.

Ready:……

The best, confident and in the right headspace version of Ellis Simms (that we have all seen on occasion) is capable of competing against teams like (CL) Man United.

Given your sassy / flouncy responses - tell me I’m wrong without looking childish.

Go….
I don't even need to do that, you've already made yourself look a fool.

I genuinely think some of the criticism is fair, but it’s not always balanced.

He’s demonstrated that he can score goals (albeit in one half of a season), he’s strong and can be a handful for defenders.

He does need to work on his first touch but more importantly for me, he needs to figure out the mental side of his game. It’s commonplace for form to fluctuate and even hit long term lows because of confidence, but Ellis appears to have a more chronic issue with confidence that’s definitely holding him back. He’s rightly not going to make the first team unless this changes.

To say he’s shit is a lazy football ‘fan’ mantra. Individuals that actually manage to become professional footballers, let alone play in the Premiership and Championship, aren’t shit. It’s down to poor form, which can include long patches of poor form.

If he leaves in this window, he may thrive in a different environment, however, if he stays, as supporters of our great football club, we need to get behind him and want him to succeed. He’s a more than capable back up striker.

I agree. For a few games the there Simms was chasing and pressing the keeper and it won points.
A patch.

Simms has talent which is Prem level. His head needs sorting.

It’d be a shame to see him go. A lot of the negativity aimed at him just doesn’t sit right with me. I’m rooting for him to turn things around and show what he’s really capable of.
Genuinely question Herb, how do you know Ellis Simms? 8 posts on this forum and 7 of them have been about Simms.
