Rushworth has made a couple of errors but if you can’t see the confidence he inspires in the defence then you’re blind. He’ll come good and this post will look stupid.

Rushworth looks like a solid champ keeper (eg. Infinitely better than Wilson), I’d personally replace him with Dovin when Dovin is ready rather than spend £5-6m on him to have him permanently.

I always watch the strikers shooting in the warm ups, City and the opposition.
Haji was slotting every shot into a corner, looked sharp as he was in the match.
Varane (he with the long frizzy hair) on the other hand blasted at least one over.

I reckon that, until Dovin returns, Rushworth is our best option although Wilson is decent enough. The least said about Collins the better.

The mistakes rushworth makes are experience related not fundamental goalkeeping ones like with Collins and Wilson, especially yesterday which was all down to poor decision making. He will only snuff those kind of things out by playing (and even then will probably get some things wrong).

He is a good keeper. Again with the goal yesterday as well multiple things we could have done better. Kitching could have not tried to go and get revenge for Bobby and take three swipes at a player for a free kick in a stupid area for one.

Blaming Kitching for what was a meat and drink ball for a GK to claim free kick?

He gets a certain amount of "new boy credit" and will evade criticism from most for a while, but that cross i would expect Sunday league GKs to collect, let alone somebody who "instills so much confidence in the defence".

In a game where the goal wasnt threatened, he managed to concede a goal. It didnt matter as we were already 7-0 up, but in a few weeks time it could be at 0-0 in the 90+ minutes and we end up losing. An error is an error, regardless of the scoreline. As we finished 7-1 a lot are glossing over it, had that been the losing goal, how many would still hold those views?

Wilson has consistently proven he is not of the required level. Rushworth has to have time to settle in but I don’t doubt when he does he will be a very good keeper.

One of the errors Robins made last season was constantly chopping and changing keepers to the point no one had confidence and none had any relationship with the back 4

Crazy that no other team at this level has come in for Wilson considering he’s not been first choice here since he won that Golden Glove. Would have thought someone else would have leapt at the opportunity to sign such a top class keeper who must be itching to play.

It won't take many more clangers from Rushworth til the defence loses confidence in him too. Pre-season, Derby, and a game v QPR where QPR didnt even look like scoring so far. Thats 3 fuck ups every 4 games so far! Wilson and Collins would be getting dogs abuse and I can guarantee there wouldn't be a single person defending them had either started the season in the same manner

That free kick was a total fluke scored by a 30 year old player scoring only his 4th ever goal in professional football. The only way a GK would have got to that is if he was standing close to the far post and it still wouldn't have been easy. Do you think Wilson would have saved it?

By the time QPR scored we were just cruising along saving ourselves. We hadn't scored for nearly 20 minutes. We had subbed off some of our best players. Something to learn from.

Rushworth has saved us more than he's cost us. His handling has been good. His quick distribution at times has been very good. I know i wouldn't be saying this about Wilson.

Brighton wouldn’t sell him for £5m - Wilson wouldn’t attract any fee or any interest as first choice at this level.

Where did I blame Kitching?

With any goal there are contributing factors that being one of them. What I was doing is proving their are multiple ways that goal could have been prevented and your captain not being am idiot is one of them. Of course Rushworth should have done better with the goal, that is obvious.

Some of you are already missing a lot of what Rushworth is doing because it is so simple.
He stepped out 3 or 4 yards off his line and cut out a cross on Saturday. It was only 4 ft off the ground and looked innocuous, but it meant the ball never reached the danger area.
Both Wilson and Collins would have been standing on the line waiting to see where the ball went.
Look for the times he just reaches out and catches the ball instead of flapping at it,or backing away from it. Then you will see the difference between him and them.

I think he should have saved it. He was slow getting down to it. It wasn't out of his reach. However wasn't helped by poor defending.
