It was the cut back and set up for rudoni’s deflected one which I liked. I actually think the ball into him could’ve been better but he showed pace (obviously), awareness and skill to cut inside and set him up…rather than trying to shoot.
He looked good. Long may it continue.
That was Wright's second, when Wright reversed it into the the far corner.

I'd agree with you if Rapha goes out on loan.

We only have 25 places available in the squad, and hes not likely to feature, hes already behind BTA who would fill in on either wing before Rapha (imho) not to mention pushing a FB further forward.
So hes just taking up a squad position unnecessarily.

If FL sees Godo as being better than Rapha and can move Rapha on, then great, go get him. But its moving players on that's proving to be difficult.

Disagree about Rapha personally. I like what I've seen and think he could be a useful squad player.

Collins would definitely be one. The other is a good question, and I'm not sure if I know the answer. Allen maybe? But that seems a little harsh.
Collins, Bidwell, Raphael, Bassette, Simms.

There's plenty of options and much to debate, im sure we would have players lined up to replace them, but the issue is who would take them off our hands first?

Think Collins and Bassette will definitely go
Lampard clearly doesn't like Basette, I'm sure he wants him out of the club at the first opportunity.

Sorry if I missed elsewhere, why was BTA sat in the dugout whilst rest of team was celebrating on the pitch?? This still taken from a few mins after final whistle…

Edit
I'd also add that he's shown he can have an impact on the left or right side.
Maybe Frank has been working on him during pre-season, we certainly look more fluid, and the likes of Torp are now looking more dangerous this season.
Although the quality of opposition hasn't been the best so far.
Lampard said that BTA was the player who came back the fittest after the break. It looked that way preseason to me, his touch wasn't there then but he was getting into dangerous positions and looking lively. His touch is coming I think. We shouldn't forget that he scored 10 for West Brom, that's decent in my book.

He was out with the rest of them quite shortly after that. He wouldn't join in with the other goal scorers giving the crowd a fisting at the end. Too shy and not into that sort of thing.

Who knows, but he sort of hinted with EMC in an interview post game. He was taking a lot in on the day he had just had and the news the players walked into. Probably soaking in the fact the fans are seeing why we signed him..

In my opinion i think he is a very thoughtful lad with a big heart. Its been a long road for him and maybe feels like now he belongs, so wanted a quiet moment. . FL picked him out and sort of explained BTA journey at the club.

Bassette doesn't count towards the squad as he's under 21, and depending on when Raphael's birthday is he might also not count. But the others I agree.

Something would need to be done if we bring in more players over the age of 21. Not sure on Godo's age, maybe he'd be counted as an under 21 as well.

Godo is 22, so would be counted as 1 of our 25 man squad.

If the worst came to the worst, we may have to pay a few players off. Collins, Bidwell and Allan have less that a year left on their contracts, we could loan them out and cover their wages, but I doubt Doug would allow that.

Getting Collins gone would be best for all parties. I would be reticent to let Bidwell go just incase we don't sign another CB. Allen I could see going as we have a few midfielders, and with Andrews now waiting in the wings. Would seem a bit harsh as he's been an excellent servant to the club.

Raphael becomes a senior player this season. He's one of the 25.

I wonder if the ‘pulse’ celebration, was acknowledging he needs to stay calm on the pitch - maybe something the coaching staff have been working with him on? - his play certainly seemed less panicked and frantic on Saturday; he played with his head up and found his team mates in better positions etc.

I thought it was along the lines of "I'm ice cold".

BTA is suddenly the player we knew he could be if he would look up and read the play. To me he's been really lucky so far or the coaching team have done their job. If it's the second he adds to the list of vastly improved players like Torp and Rudoni.
