Same amount of goals when compared 2023/4 and 2024/25.

Rudoni had far more assists which were aided by 7 corner assists.

and yet he no longer takes corners… not sure that makes sense to me - yes he’s a threat in the air, but he also created so many chances and goals, think we’re less of a threat as such

Wright is much better than EMC on the left.
I’m pretty sure EMC has more goals and assists for us than Haji from the wing since 2024.

The reality is that Haji had one really good stretch between October and December 2023 and from then, not a lot of goals and assists.

And EMC's predominantly came in a purple patch just after Lampard joined.

I'm not going to have too much of a go at Wright at the moment because I really think he's playing with an injury, but straight after he joined he looked poor as a central striker. He went out on the left and looked far more threatening cutting in. Under Lampard apart from one game where he scored a hat-trick he's looked poor again. Yes, he's scored the odd goal but in most of those performances other than the goal he looked a passenger for most of the game.

I think he works better cutting in from the left and we need a centre forward better suited to getting on the end of the crosses (if that's the way Lampard intends to play)

Haji scored most of his LW goals during the purple patch under Robins back in Oct-Dec 2023. In the same period, Collins had the highest shot saving % in the league was operating at a high level. People’s perception of Haji at LW hasn’t moved on from there but in reality, he’s been much stronger as a striker than a LW for a long time now.

IIRC, after New Year, 2024, Haji’s goals from LW is Boro, Leeds, Ipswich, Wolves, Oxford, Blackburn and Plymouth (8 goals). Over the same period, he’s scored 13 goals upfront, in less games.

Something people haven’t accounted for when arguing Wright should play LW is that what made it successful under Robins is not how Lampard plays. Many are saying Haji ‘can’t’ play upfront in Lampard’s system, but the could be said about his role at LW. His injuries are a mitigating factor, but he didn’t look good at LW for the period he played there under Lampard.

Under Lampard, the wingers get the ball high up the pitch and generally need to hold width and take players on, that’s not how Haji operated in Robins’ iteration of 4-2-3-1.

So what you're saying is Lampard's tactics don't suit Wright at either LW or CF. Great utilisation of our record signing!

This place is unbelievable. Blaiming Simms and saying get rid when he didnt even play today. If we need to get rid of anyone its Asante. How many games is Frank going to give him to run around amelessly before being subbed on 70 minutes.

The usual anti Simms brigade should watch his goal in the last friendly and thats what was needed today. Not the headless chicken Asante with his fake bandage on his arm. WBA fans must have been pissing themselves we payed money for him
I thought exactly the same Saturday they had big centre backs winning every aerial battle and I thought simms is the only striker we have who could win the battles against them and the switch should of been Asante off for simms

No point, he will not play him..He has made his mind up..he played injured Wright, against Sunderland, twice and he was awful..Simms, not one minute. Simms will prove 90 pc on here wrong, but not with us.

Exactly - sick of seeing people say Haji is best on the wing. He can’t play as the style of winger Lampard wants in his system. It’s night and day from how robins had us operating.

I’m much more hopeful in Wright at 9 than most but also need to see him be fully fit. No surprise that he was carrying an injury back end of last season - he looked physically shot.

Not a chance. Wright cannot play centre forward.

No, people have been parroting the line that Haji ‘doesn’t suit Lampard’s system’ as a striker as if he’s played v well at LW. He scored once at LW v Plymouth.

He’s a striker, Haji wants to play there and Lampard agrees because it’s his best position. Hes not had much of a preseason so might need a few games get the sharpness back.

Until he reaches another performance level in his contract,if that exists.
