Be interesting to see how smith goes about it if he stays in.Going to depend on how the tail deal with the new ball. But it's still about mentality and heart. Smith has to stay in.

They've still got a few overs with the old one haven't they, hopefully have the runs knocked off by then or the bulk of?Going to depend on how the tail deal with the new ball. But it's still about mentality and heart. Smith has to stay in.
3 really as Woakes isn't going to be able to do much with an arm in a sling. To not score 35 runs with 4 wickets is criminal.
you want to assume the medical team know what they're doing but seeing him in his whites ready to come out and bat with his arm in a sling was slightly worrying. when its a serious enough injury they're talking about him missing the winter tour you have to hope they're pretty certain he won't make it worse batting.3 really as Woakes isn't going to be able to do much with an arm in a sling.
New ball at 80 overs. They're in the 76th now. They've still got a few overs with the old one haven't they, hopefully have the runs knocked off by then or the bulk of?
What a great series its been though!
The result of the whole series is still in the balance on the final day of the last test.
What a great advert for test match cricket.
This is the issue they need to sort. The big 3 seem happy to just endlessly play each other and have no regard for the other teams but we need as many test sides as possible playing at a high level.Give me this any day over us thrashing one of the weaker teams. Just wish it had been spread out properly to give players time to recover
Problem is England fans will turn up pretty much regardless of the opposition. Indian Test crowds are well down as are Australian Test crowds against "smaller" teams. Our 2024 tour of India was mainly played at "smaller" venues rather than the main grounds because of lack of interest. South Africa just don't play enough Test matches full stop. This is the issue they need to sort. We seem to be content that no matter what we sell tickets in this country but that's not going to be guaranteed if we continue to see weak sides show up who we easily roll over.
That's the game. If the old ball is still playing like it was last night do India keep it and just try & use pressure to force wickets or gamble on the new ball. The new ball can also travel and if smith goes hard the game could be over quickly.
not many English supporters by the sound of things!Only in England would the ground be packed with only 35 needed
There's obviously so much more to it...but if Tongue could bowl straight we might already have this in the bag
They are just noisy.not many English supporters by the sound of things!
this is going to be harder work than it should be isn't it?
Yeah can't put it all on him, but there's not been that many wides/byes in a long timeBit harsh though, did well second innings. Any of those catches or a fit Woakes (even just able to bat first innings) and we win
